Having actually audited churches, of all the various brands, I can tell you a huge amount of them would disappear if we enacted anti-money laundering legislation against their third-world "charities" the same way we do smaller charity groups. They are all about money.

The ones from Africa openly say they don't want people from outside their own ethnic group, and often even their own village, in their association papers to the government their churches co-sign and even say the intend to pool tithing money to village elders for them to "keep safe".
Neither catholics, orthodox nor protestant utter a word about this even when they openly write it down like that.
Church goals can basically boil down to who legally holds the money, which ethnic groups are allowed into them and to which high risk-classified third world country on multiple AML watchlists the money gets sent to.
