Well there's a lot to it. Touhou's own lore combined with the mythology it's based on can get pretty crazy if you want to explore fan canon. Since Kasen is based on Ibaraki-douji you have an interesting journey of atonement too.
I just now found this design sheet of the 'fu by the original artist of her manga, which was used in an unofficial continuation. I think I'll read into it a bit after I wake up tomorrow.

I think that's just a reupload of an artbook actually, the closest to new lore Kasen has was the Fortune slip (that Takane also got) and maybe this sketch of a sketch of ZUN's original sketch of Kasen.
But all 2hus definitely deserve more content to work with, but I guess ZUN just wants us to make it for him...

Only played the first two games so far and i think they are pretty good but they are much slower paced than a Souls game, lets go with with the japanese numbering scheme because the first game never released outside japan.
>1 is a pretty straightforward dungeon delver at its core with a clear objective of getting to the lowest floor, the moment you get a weapon with MP regen and a healing spell the game becomes piss easy aside from two enemies
>2 has mostly dropped its dungeon delving and you can start to see the usual Fromsoft philosophy, non linear interconnected
