Ultimately you're free to continue using PC for your personal vidya needs, but there is nothing in pointing out that the PC scene is nowhere similar as it used to be 15~20 years ago.
If PC is nothing more than just a glorified multiplatform machine these days, then I'm just gonna stick to the Switch ecosystem for the convenience and still play the same amount of games of my interest (if not greater) there.

I have a greater amount of games on Switch 1 & 2 compared to my 15 years-old Steam account. It's hard to see the purpose in buying anything on PC when a hybrid console can already run most of the games that do strike my interest such as Dredge, Nier Automata, Ace Combat 7, Kunitsu-Gami, Yakuza Zero, Resident Evil 5, Legend of Heroes, Mad Rat Dead, etc. As I said, if PC has become nothing more a machine to play ports of console games to my eyes (instead of the actual machine that was playing PC exclusives and mods that could pretend to be full-fledged games on their own in a time where western games didn't suck generally), it was bound to be replaced by a console more convenient and simple of use.

Why do people say that the PC no longer has any use? You can't emulate thousands of games across hundreds of consoles on the Switch or Switch 2. Infact old games aren't even allowed unless you ask Nintendo for permission to dripfeed you a few games, and that's after paying for the subscription. You also don't have access to mods or romhacks. You don't have freedom to use any hardware you please, you can't even use cheat codes, a staple of games for 40 years. I just can't imagine playing a multiplat on a locked down handheld, when it offers zero freedom. I don't want portability if I have to sacrifice everything else.

They're only one flounder away from being eaten alive by their investors who won't just sit back and wait a decade for nintendo to try again and maybe not flounder. I put zero stock in modern game journalism, that's akin to saying Black Panther is the greatest movie of all time. One of those games took Zelda out back and shot it in the head, the other is a shameless rehash of that which fixed nothing and capitalized on zero potential, and Odyssey is a terrible slog of a collectathon easily among the worst 3D Mario games.
