Unironic answer, I think the increasingly high budgets of modern games and consoles makes licensed games like Dragon Ball much harder to go now, all of the best shit was made a long time ago on a much cheaper budget

It's not hard, they just refuse to do so.
They always go about 30% of the way then give up.
All they have to do is make a clone of the BT/Sparking series, but let you actually play through the entire story, from Bulma meeting Goku up until whichever ending you like the best. With all the characters, full cutscenes of important parts, maybe even a few maps to explore before/in between battles.

ultimately, I think it comes down to how popular DB is. They know they can just crap out something low-budget and it sells, so why try any harder than they have to? It's exactly like Pokemon, they could easily make a better game but it's more profitable to make a shitty game.

That's literally every dragonball arc. Goku gets stronger, and a new guy appears that can match and oppose him; or a new guy appears, but Goku grows stronger to match and oppose him. You could say that's the theme of the entire story in general, that there's always someone stronger out there.

After the end of the anime barely anyone cared about the manga but the thread was so funny and popular it stayed extremely active. Then a lot happened, some retard made a /dbs/ wiki and some posters became obnoxious thread personalities just because they wanted a page about them in the wiki.
For example there's the Warden a Jirenbro who was responding to every single post with a non-Dragon Ball image calling them "off-topic moe" and was reporting these posts en masse with other posters. Which led to mods hated /dbs/ for flooding them with reports and also people posting moeshit because they were receiving attention from it.
