If you make a comic under Disney, or any of the subcontracting publishers (like Egmont), Disney will own the comic, and even claim ownership to the original artwork (so to prevent a situation like Don Rosa, where he sold his original artwork to make ends meet). You get one time payment for your troubles, and so you will never get royalties, and companies may even use your name to advertise you if you were noteworthy enough (see

Additionally, in the ye olden days, signatures or acknowledgements of the original artist or author was also forbidden. This is why Carl Barks was simply called the "good Duck artist" for a while, since nobody knew his name. Fans had to go out and find out his name on their own, before publishers like Egmont finally realized they could just print the names of those involved.

Yeah, I'm sure. Taikaviitta as a character appeared in the pocket books frequently enough, but the Paperinik/PK magazine was its own long-term continuity, which didn't quite gel with the one-off stories you typically find in the pocket books.
However, I do recall someone deciding to start a new line of Taikaviitta stories, that gave him a new origin story (Donald adopting the name and persona of an old criminal, but fighting for good instead of thieving), as opposed to it being Donald donning the costume to get back to whoever had wronged him that day (as that's how the Paperinik character basically started).
