always felt like slimes should be end-game or at least late game monsters.
if they latch onto you, you literally can't get it off and it can suffocate you to death with ease.
and i've never seen a slime with organs so slicing it with a sword shouldn't even do anything.
slimes are only fodder in games because they're not allowed to even be slimes.

yeah agree. Slimes should be immune to physical damage, damage the player on touch and apply some slowdown debuff. For how many flaws Dragon's Dogma 2 had, I think that game handled slimes quite well.

Make a new one. Think of the villain's themes or aesthetic and apply that to them. For example, if the baddy is meant to represent the unnatural then make his minions something that doesn't fit in.

I never understood that sentiment. Yes, they're immune to dying from physical damage unless there are specific circumstances, but they're not immune to the damage itself. It's less an immunity and more of a fast regeneration. A warrior can easily escape from a slime since the only way a slime can hold onto something is by contracting its body, making it an even more solid target to either grasp and pry off or rip apart. Sure they'll just immediately form back into a slime but they're not dangerous enough to be end-game. More like early-mid.
