It feels more like a single boss with a very lively weapon than it does a duo boss to me. The puppet only attacks when she orders it to, so in that sense, the puppet is still her attacking you. The reason why it works though is because both targets attack you as part of a predefined combo, and aren't two independent AI that can overlap in some bullshit manner. Putrescent Knight from Shadow of the Erdtree did this very mildly with that one attack that had the knight and horse attacking you in a predefined combo. Also,O&S is still just as shit as every other duo boss.

How come none of the puppets wear any underwear in this game? The maid puppets, the broom ones in the carnival with the dress, the ones right after romeo boss in that depressing alley, every NPC puppets that wears a skirt or dress, I checked them all. It's all joints but no pantsu. Puppets need underwear too I think. I'm sure P wears some because it's part of being a real boy. It's a little disappointing. If this were a Japanese game, there would absolutely be panties on every character.

For the handles that sweep, the Bramble Curved Sword blade has a great combination of damage and speed.
For the Pistol Rock Drill handle, the Tyrant Murderer's Dagger blade is fast and very strong.

Why was Arlecchino so strong?
How long before the main game was the DLC set? It would seem to be a number of years at least but there's more advanced tech in the past that's missing in the present and the puppets are already shitting themselves in the past along with alchemical monstrosities running around which doesn't seem to make much sense.

I wonder what the reaction would be if arlecchino still comes back for the dorothy sequel as the scarecrow in the wizard of oz, but he was COMPLETELY fucked in Lies of P that he remembers NOTHING, but exhibits the murderous tendenices until... oz gives him "a brain" which was his old memories

The Krat of the DLC was a still functioning city full of regular people and machines (consider the Grand Hotel hadn't even opened yet) while the one from the base game was already devastated by both the Petronecrosis and the Puppet Frenzy, so it's more like shit hadn't gotten as fucked up yet.

Finished the dlc. There were some really annoying gauntlets of enemies in the last few areas. I beat Arlechino second try but I used Lea. You definitely need stamina investment, it's not like other games where the default amount can handle 90% of situations.
Health doesn't have strict softcaps and gets strictly worse per level, so generally it's best to get it up to about 25-30 and then focus on Capacity so you can wear higher defense equipment.

Damage stats are easy enough, just pick one and level to 40.

Except that according to the DLC, they only put his ergo (that was only retrieved after he died) in a puppet body recently, so obviously not at the same time

Holy Sword is great but the real answer is baton handle and wrench head sadly. As has been said a million times no poise makes it tough, you can focus on fable and consumables to up the number and effectiveness of catalysts and things that help generate it mid fight to take advantage of many fable art attacks that come out fast as well. Chaos Legion on PS2 is kind of like this. You have your main dude with a sword who can do basic combos, but the main gimmick is that you also control "Legions" which are different summons that fight alongside you and you can incorporate them into gameplay. Taking direct control of them powers them up but also weakens your main guy and leaves him open, so it's a balancing act of switching between the two which is kind of like Markiona.
It's a neat idea but it's an older game so it didn't nail everything perfectly. Can't think of a more recent game with a similar gimmick though.

The thing about Arlecchino is that he really doesn't have much HP, at least on NG. If you learn to parry you get a decent amount of staggers.
Stagger -> Charged heavy -> Heavy -> Fatal -> Fable art or something does like 25-30% of his health. You can kill him in like 3 staggers + some chip damage (again, at least on NG). It felt more fair to me because of that.

Genuinely curious how the sequel will handle returning weapons. Souls games always bring a ton of weapons back, sometimes with slightly altered movesets. I can’t really see the boss weapons coming back, but maybe some of the other regular weapons? Or are they too tied to the current setting they’re in for that?

ok i actually managed to do it
i got lucky because as she was powering up i got puppet to 0 hp at the same time which stunned her for a long time and on top of that i could use crit attack on her
also toxic throwables were crucial, i threw like 6 of them and each did like 1k of dmg which is insane, got from half HP to like 15% hp in just few seconds

I'd suggest mostly ignoring the puppet unless you plan to get it to low health so when she phases, you can knock it and focus her
she's a good fight, honestly I feel the specter would just get in the way, the fact the puppet doesn't attack until she commands it to makes it a very forgiving dual encounter

Yes, anon. In the first fight the others aren't taking potshots at you the entire time. You get one of them active and sometimes another will run in to try and slash at you if you even got multiple of them on screen at once, otherwise it's only the one current member and sometimes a telegraphed sweeping attack from the big guy. In the second fight the "inactive" members are constantly throwing shit at you from off-screen, and if the hookshot fucker is the last one alive he can hit you with his hook at the same time the big guy does his energy wave which completely stops you from avoiding it unless you avoided the hook first. It's a completely different fight.
