Morrowind already has some cool armor, but more variety is better.
>>712855542I ran into Todd Howard at the supermarket the other day.
I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didnโt want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, โOh, like youโre doing now?โ I was taken aback, and all I could say was โOh, that's REALLY funny!โ but he kept cutting me off and going โhuh? huh? huh?โ and closing his hand shut in front of my face. He walked away and I continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Potions of Fortify Personality in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like โIt's an honour!" At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually noclipped back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the potions and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually โto prevent any electrical toddfoolery,โ and then he turned around and winked I said, "Not now. Not ever." I donโt even think thatโs a word. After she scanned each potion and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by spamming a Charm spell.

Why does Divayth Fyr claim that if he was born during the time of the dwemer he propably would've been one of them since he speculates they were just another great house. Even though all the other lore states he was born long before the battle of the red mountain as a chimer. is it just another unfortunate inconsistency mishap with writers not being on the same page with the others.
>>712869698Wasn't there an actual unironic house dedicated to the dorfs pre modern great houses though, or am I misremembering

>>712874249For NPV interactivity honestly KCD2. The box lifecycle is one of the most impressive Iโve seen in a game.
Once you get to the main city just hangout around the market youโll watch as the town slowly comes alive.
First people hawling goods to market, then people getting food, then shops open up, then town announcer types doing their thingโฆ.etc etc. people with very interesting schedules here and there.
Then even late night drinking and finally everyone heading off to bed. Thereโs people who move towns, all sorts of hidden schedules.
Only oblivion has a system with such scale.
One thing openMW needs is an asynchronous npc schedule system. That and a directional hit box so I can implement Mount and blade combat
>>712877146I found KCD1 dreadfully boring and didn't finish it so there's no way I'll play the sequel.
As many things as Oblivion did poorly, the NPCs were truly decades ahead of their time. I don't think any game has ever replicated the feeling of doing the Paranoia quest when I didn't know who was and wasn't telling the truth.
>>712874249Play Ultima 7 for Morrowind origins.
I'd recommend VTM Bloodlines, BG2 and Planescape Torment because they are my favorites, but they aren't very similar to Morrowind.
I'm gonna make a melee warrior character for Cyrodiil stuff, never gone there yet
Should I go Long blade or Axes?
>>712877530Yeah kcd1 was a snoozer but kcd2 is entirely different. Right now for NPC schedules, dynamism, hell even law enforcement and thievery KCD2 is the current peak.
In oblivion you can just wait somewhere then NPC go away, then steal what you want. KCD2 nah theyโll do the โwell I saw that guy sneaking around without a torch in black cloths near the spot that got robbedโ and then youโre a suspect and theyโll search you unless you charisma your way out of it.

>>712892648Actually....
>The Telvanni suffered greatly during the Red Year in the early Fourth Era. All of the settlements on Vvardenfell were obliterated, but the Telvanni survived and attempted to rebuild. Morrowind was then invaded by the Argonians of Black Marsh, and in an act of revenge for centuries of slavery, the Argonians focused on wiping out the weakened House Telvanni. Circa 4E 6, the last remaining stronghold of the House was sacked by the Argonian invasion force and Great House Telvanni fell. It is documented that some survivors attempted to flee aboard The Pride of Tel Vos, a ship which was later found wrecked along the coast of Skyrim, east of Winterhold. By this account, a single heir of the house survived: Brandyl Tenvanni, son of Lymdrenn Tenvanni, who was found as an infant by Argonians. He grew up in Black Marsh under the name Brand-Shei.[77] Brelyna Maryon is also a descendant of House Telvanni.[78] As of the Fourth Era, the holdings of House Telvanni are all on Vvardenfell,[8] although it is unknown what or where they are. Despite these setbacks and no longer having holdings on the coastal mainland, House Telvanni remains a ruling Great House of Morrowind.[79]

The implication is that the rebuilding efforts in vvardenfell were atleast to a point succesfull but we don't know to what extent other than the Telvanni are still considered a live Great House

>>712932847That's fair, I just see that style as a bit too samey to Dunmeri styles (outside the colours) though I recognise it's value.
>>712932857A little, maybe, but I like the idea of the overabundance of expressions of order creating visual chaos, the same way their rigid culture creates dissent.
>>712930408>>712931951>>712932847Perhaps in my mind these armours are more tribal/mythological harkening back to the Merethic Era and I envision the Dominion as an almost schizophrenic Fascistic futurist state that still cares to preserve traditions whilst maintaining a proverbial technological edge.

>>712934149>idealised state of 19th century etiquette tutorsthat's... hell; but personally I think it goes well beyond that, becoming almost mechanical, or hivelike, in nature; an enforced harmony that drives anyone even slightly divergent mad or out, and a constant but hidden social warfare of all against all because position is life but disruption is death

Is Unarmored even worth it? I get that it wouldn't make sense to make it as strong as wearing armor proper by itself, since it would make them obsolete, but 60AR at maximum with 100 skill sounds lame
>>712936656It's purely for larp purposes, and for characters that don't want to invest in strength or mess with carry weight (+STR really) enchantments.
>>712936656It would ironically be more worth it in Oblivion, where they removed the skill entirely. If Morrowind had the whole thing where your magic ability is hampered by wearing armor, unarmored would serve a huge purpose. As it stands, it's mostly for if your character doesn't make sense to be wearing light, medium, or heavy armor, like a traditional robe-wearing mage, a sneaky thief in plain clothing, or a shirtless barbarian.
>>712936656It's worth it if you enchant for it.
armor growth from unarmored is quadratic, it ramps up pretty quickly over 100 and reaches parity with daedric around 250
You're going to need enchants to make it worth your while, which is not quite worth it but still viable.
>>712936656It's important to always keep it at a good level in case a witch steals your armor and clothes.
>>712936656Not really since you're also denying yourself slots for constant effect enchantments. I did a playthrough as an unarmored mage and the only helpful thing about unarmored was no extra carry weight, but light armor can also pretty much do that. Alternatively if you buff unarmored to 200 it has near same armor rating ass daedric so there's that. But you could also just wear daedric and buff heavy armor instead and that would be better. So in conclusion, do it for roleplay not meta.

>>712931951Ironically way back in the day, before they got even a proper loremaster, there were plans for a Summerset expansion that never ended up going through and the plans they had were actually way more interesting than what we got.
>>712944384I have heard about that, a shame but that's what the corporate world does, blandness will win.
>>712942265malacath is the only good daedric prince who cares about his followers
>>712944341What the actual fuck are you talking about you lorelet retard? Dunmer are casually referred to as "elves" on the regular. They're called Dark elves, both by humans in-universe and by the game itself for simplicity's sake, and both the high elves and the wood elves also have silly "real" names that end with Mer
>>712927172Im mad that the birthsign bonuses are not perm modifiers and just buffs that dont get taken into account in a lot of occasions.
>>712944861I don't even know if it was a corporate thing, they were already adding it and they were willing to go and do the CWC (which players fucking freaked out over going "THIS GAME SHOULD NOT HAVES THE ROBOTS"), I just guess
I don't even know. There was some of it to like. The cities, even though they're overwhelmed with the stonework fetish guy's bricks feel appropriately claustrophobic, the altmer have bards all singing racist as fuck songs.
But we missed a shot for mass daedric enslavement to the point of industrialization, maomer land ships, and an entire region that's been terraformed into an orrery.
>>712919382You're forgetting the cops are dressed exactly like Nerevar. They fashioned the uniform after his own, and then try to kill him for wearing it.

Does vanilla Morrowind have companions or only follower NPCs for escort quests?
>>712945350Still doesn't make you an ordinator. Only the helmet is modeled after Nerevar and they freak out if you wear the cuirass so it's not about being Nerevarine but about not being an ordained member of one of the ordinator orders.
>>712947043Tribunal has a proto-follower who gives you access to his inventory and such but you have to pay him, he's hired merc after all. It's interesting that they exoerimented with followers already in Morrowind but Oblivion has none.
>>712948031nice very nice.
was there any other women used in promotional art? I think the wood elves had a woman too. now do that.

>>712947043I couldn't inflict such pain on myself by using companions, they are such a pain to manage.
It's better to just cast summon for 30 seconds.
Why does this random npc have so much fanart?
>>712851470 (OP)Why is that N'Wah Todd Howard afraid of remastering Morrowind
>>712952805what exactly do you think should be done in a remaster? oblivion remastered was just fancy graphics and a refitted leveling system. i don't think that would work well for the xbox360 gamers todd has been building his games for for the last decade.

>>712953206He is. A daedric prince is just whatever gets labeled as a daedric prince, they all have wildly different origin stories.
>>712920576Strongest race in Skyrim, though. Berserk is stupid OP.
>>712953906Funny since they're reusing a ton of elements from those games, at least for Oblivion.
>>712954085That's, uh, not even remotely true.
>>712954467Yes it is though. The daedra are just the spirits that did not partake in the creation of mundus and have an interest in mortal affairs. Some of them are said to have originated from Sithis sure, which is probably what you think defines them, but they're all quite different.
>Molag Bal is a dreugh king from a previous kalpa>Meridia is literally just a Magna Ge who decided mortals are more interesting than chilling in aetherius>Malacath is a fallen aedric spirit>hermaeus mora is a bunch leftover ideas from the creation of mundus>mehrunes dagon is either a creation of the magna ge or a formerly benevolent spirit from a previous kalpa cursed to become a destroyer by akatosh/alduin/auri-el>namira and nocturnal are both personifications of the primordial darkness

>>712954858You're wrong; Daedric Princes had to have been around to witness the creation of Mundus. Malacath was transformed into something akin to a Daedra after Boethiah shit him out.

>>712955556Demonstrate?
Anon, this is TES lore we're talking about. There are no sources, only the finest of headcanons.
>>712955815This, however, is wrong, as there are 16 spaces between the spokes, and Attribution's Share is not the same place as the Ashpit
>>712956740I am walking the path of glory through struggle and pain, through reading the terrible new lore I gain trve vnderstanding of how pointless caring about the lore is, eventually I will CHIM and my headcanons will be the only lore that matters
>>712956930There's a 17th Prince too who had her own realm, clearly that cosmology is wrong itself, and as inherently chaotic beings it wouldn't make much sense for them all to have such strictly defined places to begin with
>>712955556The headcanon is established thusly:
>Malacath is Considered a Prince, despite the fact that he doesn't really qualify as Daedra.>There's a few Gods associated with Malacath tied to Goblins and Ogres and Ogrims that're simultaneously not tied to Orcs>Sheogorath is still considered Daedra despite being mantled>Boethiah's Behaviour while wearing Trinimac is reminiscent of the Behaviours associated with Mantling.Basically, you get some lesser God, Moloc, getting a power boost by basically being force-Fed the Aedric Trinimac. It also ties into a lot of Malacath's behavior of seemingly like he's "playing the part"
>>712957193There is no 17th prince.
Ithelia is a trick of the Woodland man that he used to extract knowledge.
She isn't real.

>>712913732>Why don't modders develope a brand new fucking game instead of rebuild old gamesGEE
>>712957912Most of the Other Princes have a Gap of at least a Kalpa or two so that they have the opportunity to not partake in repeated Convention, no matter their origin. Even Herma-Mora.
Malacath doesn't have that opportunity, and at least Meridia has the decency of being Magna-Ge.

>>712959596>until you make it to the map edgeyeah I've looked at the map and what's complete, but I can't imagine how jarring it is to be walking through the forest or along a path and suddenly hit a wall or walk off the flat nirn
>>712959491>Morrowind was originally conceived during development of Daggerfall. It was to be called Tribunal and set in Summerset Isle. It was then redesigned after Daggerfall to use a new SVGA version of the XnGine (later used in Battlespire) and feature the entire province of Morrowind, not just the subsection of Vvardenfell where the final game actually takes place. The original story featured all 5 houses of the Dark Elves, including your ability to join House Indoril and House Dres. The original design also featured the progressive expansion of the Blight, cities being destroyed, armies marching, along with the return of Dagoth-Ur. Overall, it was much closer to Daggerfall in scope, setup, and gameplay style. We decided it was simply too much to create and that the technology was too akin to Daggerfall, so the project was put on hold in 1997. https://en.uesp.net/wiki/General:Elderscrolls.com_Archive/The_Elder_Scrolls_-_10th_Anniversary

>>712951921First nigga you meet. He also totally sets the archetype for every Bosmer in the game.
>>712957950Warhammer did it because every WHF faction is based on some real life culture, as made evident by its world map. ESO did it because the Gregory Keyes novels did it, and Keyes in turn probably did it because of the trope warhammer established and because that's the kind of thing that comes up in people's minds when they think of an advanced ancient culture lost in the jungle (even though black marsh is a more hardcore louisiana swamp and not a yucatan jungle).
Overall, it's a mistake, the lore about argonians having a civilization in the distant past adds literally nothing of value to the setting, it's basically there just to be a justification for giving them pseudo-mesoamerican elements and having pyramids in black marsh. Which is pointless, since it looks like shit as made evident by that horrid-looking ESO golem robot thing, and if you wanna have stone ruins in argonia that badly you can just use one of its literally half a dozen extinct non-lizard races that were already established to have left behind ruins.

Daggerfall's randomly generated dungeons are torturous and extremely unfun. At no point during the gameplay of Daggerfall did I have any fun.

>it also contextualizes their fixated Sithis worshipalready fully contextualized in the lore book from which the concept originates i.e the hist RECOGNIZE (not worship) sithis because it's what got things running
