Lupin is unpopular because its seen as way too old school. We're talking what the sixties? This is an old ass wrinkled property so it doesn't resonate with young people. And twenty years ago Adult Swim tried to bank on Detective Conan and it had awful ratings by now Detective Conan is seen as an old failure that has no business pretending its relevant and you have to remember Detective Conan has an obnoxious theme of never growing up ala Peter Pan because the main hero got turned into a little kid and he NEVER grows up. Even now the manga is still not over the story has yet to cure him. The little kids who first grew up on Conan are like pushing forty paying bills and taxes even they no longer give a shit about a story of a boy who never grows up.

Putting in irrelevant properties like Lupin and Conan will not do anything good for this game. There comes a point when a property is hated for being old and that's what happened to Lupin, Scooby Doo, etc. And one day it WILL happen to Sonic.

The problem with Billy Hatcher is that in every way he is the Anti Sonic. When Sonic Team made Sonic himself being cool was the key ingredient. When Sonic Team made Billy Hatcher they made him LAME.

Humans in Sonic art styles tend to look wonky but in Billy Hatcher they look atrocious. Having Billy be affiliated with chickens an animal the represents cowardice is another huge negative. I went from having negative hype to being very cautiously optimistic, I enjoyed SASRT but heard the Team Sonic one was pure ass so I skipped it.

Yeah probably. My issue is that chaining boosts together was what rewarded track mastery (being able to getup to level 6 i think, using a combination of tricks, drifting, boost pads and boost items). Without that, I'm not sure if the game will have any longevity besides roster additions and optimizing vehicle mods.
