Exactly where I stopped a week ago. I remembered how long I had to grind there before I could do shit, and I said no thanks. I thought all the git gud memes were true and I could blitz through with my skill, but the game is not balanced that way. You do fuck all damage, even if you suicide run through all the other areas to get high end gear early.

I remember my first playthrough.
Pirated, no DSfix, keyboard only.
Naturally, due to no online integration, and constant dying, I fucked up and lost all my humanity.
I absolutely needed a blinged out bonfire to beat O&S, so I had to look things up, ended up going to the painted world to farm rats for humanity.
It's actually a dreadful experience without messages on the ground, I was such a wikiwhore, makes me ashamed, but then again, I never had the makings of an explorer.

You collect like 120k souls worth of thingies just going through the tutorial zone + blight town, just looting things (not even talking about grinding soldiers), and then if you add on the gargoyle soul that's a bunch more, more than enough to level up enough to use a Black Knight weapon or Claymore or Zwei or whatever
