I'm also too introverted. My highlight of the day after a long day of work in being by myself, just relaxing with a video game or tv series. It would be miserable for me to constantly have to hang around someone, listen to her problems, deal with her emotions and having to spend money and time on things I don't want to. Maybe selfish, but hey it's the forever alone price that I pay for it. Sounds fair enough.

Only regret I have is never having experience intimacy at all. I'd like to have at least done something once or twice, but oh well.

I won't cope. I absolutely did. I unknowingly sacrificed friendships as a kid/teenager because I chose to stay home and play video games after school.Consequently I failed to develop much needed social skills and never interacted with any girls, despite now that I look back, it being painfully obvious that a few were interested in me. I was a bright kid who did well at school, but I absolutely bombed the step up to Sixth Form (UK) due to not applying myself and choosing to play WoW all of the time. Likewise I squandered university and chose to stay in my dorm room playing WoW some more instead of going out and socialising or really applying myself with studies.

I am now 32 and video games have been an absolutely massive part of my life and free time. I made many friendships and memories in them and yet none of those friendships have lasted to this day due to the fleeting nature of the internet. As I get older I find it extremely difficult to find anyone else like me and it's not easy connecting to people who are essentially 10 years my junior. The loneliness is pretty strong and I cope with it the same way I always have: Escapism through video games. Though the majority of my day is now spent doing a job I hate and frankly most new games suck. Not all of them. But a lot do. I'd be lying if I said I didn't regret it spending so much time on a worthless hobby that hasn't done much for me. I'm a creature of habit though and won't change. It's too late now to make up for past mistakes.

Does anyone else here freak out about money and the future? I have a house that I pay a mortgage on, a car that I own and I work a full time job with a good pension (where I can work from home and it also includes travel), but I just can't seem to shake the feeling of anxiety that I'm unable to save enough or do any kind of investing in either stocks, real estate or gold.
