>33% of the price of a Nintendo Switch 2 pro controller
>... is a better controller
How? How did Switch 2 not even have hall joysticks? The flip?

Is 8bitdo just god tier?

I've been using an SN30 pro for 7 years with the Switch and PC. I recently replaced the left stick because it had worn down so badly. It's a shitty controller and I wish I had gotten something else.

I got an 8bitdo ultimate for use with my steam deck, and while physical it is good... But when it comes to Bluetooth it SUCKS DICK. Steam deck constantly thinks it's a Nintendo switch controller, making the back paddles useless (and no way to edit this at all whatsoever) and usually makes a brand new profile for it every single time it connects. If I have another controller connected by Bluetooth, forget about it, it will randomly swap player and player 2 inputs, somehow bid both players to one controller, or jumble all the buttons on every game so you have to edit layout every time. For consistency I have to use it wired. What a piece of junk!

SN30Pro is one of the worst controllers I've ever used in my entire life, and I'm not kidding.
The dpad being ridiculously inaccurate is already common knowledge, but there are several other issues. The worst of them, in my opinion, are the face buttons. As that autistic Mario 64 fan says, there are three stages to pressing a button: press, hold, release.
The whole problem with the Sn30Pro is the release. Some people simply call it "rebound", and in my experience, the rebound on the Sn30Pro's face buttons is the worst I've ever experienced, which makes the experience miserable for anyone who cares.
The fact that no one notices this shit just proves that no one in the world plays video games seriously.

I'd speculate the easiest solution is Gamesir Tarantula Pro, and swap in a circular d-pad if you think diagonals are too hard. I can do the same on my Dualsense, but most people seem to have the opposite problem so I guess it's luck of the draw.
If diagonals seem too easy I guess the alternative is something like the Battle Beaver DS4/Dualsense mod to make every direction a separate button, but I feel like I wouldn't like that for games that want circle inputs.

luv me 8bitdo BUT the r1/l1 buttons tend to get squishy

>cheap, chinky controllers from 8bitdo and Gamesir of all brands end up being better than official ones

Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are such a joke lmao, there's zero excuse for the Switch 2 joycons to not have hall effect/TMR analogs, the Dual Sense Edge to have such horrible battery life and the durability and hardware issues on the Xbox Elite 2
