I think the worst way to go under water would be like those Indian guys stuck in that oil pipe
>Get sucked in while doing maintenance
>Flung far down the pipe to an area that had half the pipe flooded, but the upper half had air so they could survive
>Almost all their diving gear was lost during the flinging
>One guy that still had his gear, now at very low 02, goes further down the pipe to try and find the exit to get help
>Actually manages to make it, comes up on a rig and the crew hear him and pull him out
>He tells them about the other trapped divers
>They send a small team to bang on the pipe where they were, and they bang back from inside the pipe so they're still alive
>CEO of the company steps in, says to cancel rescue efforts because it would delay the drilling project by a couple of weeks
>CEO's own son is one of the trapped people
>No one can do anything about it because India
>Lone survivor goes from condemning the company and calling the CEO satan to saying "It's okay actually he had to think about his bottom line" so he was clearly blackmailed
Imagine being those poor fucks, hearing banging outside the pipe and responding to it, thinking you'll be rescued, only to wait days on days and no one comes to save you while you starve, dehydrate, and freeze to death in that pipe.
