There's no reason to not lift.
It's also perfect to combine with a low effort hobby like video games.
Why are you not lifting? Bodybuilding and lifting are the easiest way to get dopamine and cure depression without side effects.

The first week of lifting is miserable. Your body isn't used to it. Your body just feels sore with zero meaningful gains.
Start off very small. Do light jogging first. Slowly build up stamina before you hit the weights.

I prefer cardio. Man was made to walk and run not monotonously lift and set down heavy metal. It's summer, go work in the garden, get some sunlight and useful muscle exertion.

Nta but aim for small consistent goals to start. Do 15 minutes every day; when you start feeling like skipping a day you tell yourself "it's only 15 minutes", and that thought will help you push through the suck.

What will happen naturally is that you'll #1 incorporate the workout into your daily routine, which will make it feel more natural, and #2 it will create a solid foundation from where you can add on more exercises.

Focus mainly on base exercises like pushups, crunches, running etc; things you can do outside of the gym. If you have some money invest in some free weights and a cheap gym mat so you can do the exercises at home.

Once you've done this for a couple of months you will naturally start to increase reps/sets/weights.
