I feel like normies don't want a mini PC, and PC gamers don't want a console with Windows. Despite being a cool concept I don't think it will do well.

I feel like it’s a sunken fallacy for Xbox users (such as myself). I’ve built up my Xbox library so much that it would be frustrating to start over on a PC. The way they’re wording this, if they just built an “Xbox” PC and let me carry over that library, that would be great.

I tend to forget that the Series S/X is almost 5 years old. OG Xbox was only 4 years old when the 360 came out.

If you mean 1st party games, yeah. But that’s not the industry standard anymore except for Nintendo. The industry having as large a library as possible and offering them at competitive prices through sales or subscriptions.

This.

Only reason I have a series S is because of my best friend since high-school. (Single dad, so doesn't have much time for gaming so he's an Xbox purist)

Also I have sizeable collection of digital 360 games that I don't want to start over on Steam or Playstation.

This has to be one of the most dogshit gens to date. Even the PS6 is being talked about now. Neither PS5 nor Series S/X have had anything notable. Like lmao the PS5's biggest exclusive is a tutorial game L O L

Funny how Nintendo stepped out of the arms race and is the console that came out on top.

A silly little Nintendo tablet beat Xbox and Playstation....how did that happen?

True. But the thing with my situation is that I don’t have a powerful PC. It plays indie games and that’s it. I also had difficulty trying to mod through the Xbox PC app. I don’t know if it’s possible, but it was less intuitive than Steam or DRM free downloads.
I also just feel averse to shelling out for a powerful PC when I know I’ll play maybe a few current gen games a year. Series X at $500 was more reasonable

Looking a DK Bananza, I fully understand how that happened. Nintendo makes soulful games, Sony and Microsoft stopped doing that and when they do, it's woke slop, sometimes even movies. Valve is stealing their thunder too. Those two ignoring Nintendo and Valve will be their undoing.

>constantly chasing graphics leads to bloated budgets and long development times to the point Sony basically releases one game a year and Xbox only publishes so many games just because of how many fucking developers they own
>Nintendo just doesn't do that so many of their dev teams are able to put out multiple games a generation

I was always a Xbox fan in 6th and 7th gen. Games performed and looked better on Xbox during this time. And these differences could be huge, especially in FPS games. The difference between Timesplitters Future Perfect and Darkwatch vs their PS2 versions really stuck out, and of course that's where Halo was. This applied to most western games, really.

But, always needed a Playstation around for the exlusive. Cant play Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy on my original Xbox.

In 8th gen though, there wasn't this disparity. Games looked basically the same everywhere. And we are at that diminishing return point where a slight resolution difference doesn't matter. I stuck with the Xbone for awhile, but I was full PS4 by the end of the generation, and that continues now.

I can't see Xbox doing anything to win me back. The days of great Xbox Exclusives like Lost Odyssey and Culdcept Saga or even kusoge kino exclusives like Bulletwitch and Ninety Nine Nights are gone. It's just a smaller library that looks and plays the same. And obviously physical imports are out if the question as well. Just got Dodonpachi DOJ RE:Incarnation and Venus Vacation Prism this month. Cant do that on an Xbox.

Basically, rip.

With Microsoft porting everything to well, everything, and Sony porting everything to PC and now Switch, I'm just going back to Nintendo and getting the Steam Deck successor from Valve. Switch and Steam seems like the way to go at this point.

The PS5 is already 5 years old and you can't still make a $500 PC that can match it and it will be the same with the next Xbox. You will need twice or maybe even triple the money just to match it, not to mention games will be optimized for it too unlike PC that gets shit ports and then PCtards beg modders to fix shit.

Nintendo sets itself apart because they sell things no one else does. Valve is really kicking Sony and Microsoft’s ass because while their libraries and products are similar, Steam is by and far a better platform.

Shut the fuck up. You know that is not true. Nintendo has no 3rd party support. It's dry as fuck there with nothing to play other than the 1 Nintendo game they releases per year. Switch is a literal dust collector.

There’s still something to be said about getting a new console every 7 years, everything is done for you and just works for $500.
Compare that to a high end PC which has a minimum buy in of $1000 and some of the parts become outdated in 3-5 years.

Xbox games are coming. They have a ton of studios working on first-party games. You can see some from the latest Xbox Showcase, and that left out Gears E-Day, Fable, Halo, and Forza.
