>86% of Switch 2 physical game sales in the UK (launch week) were from first-party games, including the Mario Kart World bundle
>Although third-party publishers appear to have done slightly better during the launch of Switch 2 compared with Switch 1, it’s hard to describe these statistics as positive.
>Most third-party Switch 2 games posted very low numbers. One third-party publisher characterised the numbers as ‘below our lowest estimates’, despite strong hardware sales.
>What’s more, many of the titles are using ‘Game Key Cards’, which require users to download the game once they’ve put in the cartridge. This has proven unpopular amongst core audiences, who appreciate the plug and play nature of Nintendo Switch.
>>713086043 (OP)There's no reason to own Nintendo in the current year
>>713086043 (OP)>admits 3rd parties doing better than switch 1MAGA cope thread?
why in the fuck would I buy a third party game for switch 2 when I could buy it for PC, or PS5 if it isn't on PC?
I'm not paying for fake physical games
>>713086204Switch 2's launch was like triple the Switch 1. The fact third parties are only doing slightly better isn't something to brag about.
>>713086043 (OP)Bruh, most of the 3rd party games are like 5 years old and everyone already played them. Of course they aren't going to sell well.
>>713086043 (OP)Come and buy a Steam Deck, and you won't have to buy indies twice!
>look at the third party games
>nearly all of it is stuff that has been out for years
Huh wonder why no ones buying them....
>>713086873Then why is it the same situation with Rune Factory, which launched day and date?
>>713087072Why would I buy rune factory when I already have mario kart
I'll buy another game in a few months.
>>713086043 (OP)who the fuck buys a Switch for third party releases, you play those on your PC or PS5/Xbox
Switch is a first party machine
>>713086043 (OP)If it's a Jew Key Card, I do not buy. Simple as
To be fair most of the games are old ports, and not even really releasing physically. I'm sure cyberpunk did well because they actually put effort in and put the game on the cartridge.
Unless you're a Mario Kart enthusiast there is no reason to buy the Switch 2 over other handhelds now, especially since Nintendo bans you for inserting the wrong cartridge or even saying things on social media.
It gets really tiring seeing third parties show up 5-6 years late with their games on the Nintendo platform and then screech when no one buys them.
>>713086043 (OP)Nintendo fans are insecure about their lack of third party support but don't buy the games whenever do get ported.
>>713086043 (OP)The console doesn't have a big enough userbase yet, it only just released. Plus most of the third party games are old ports of games people have already played or can play for cheaper with better graphics on PS5/Xbox.
I do wonder if they'd actually sell better if they were on the card
>>713086043 (OP)I have a PC, so the only third party game I got is Bravely Default. Unless the Switch 2 is your only gaming device, I don't really see the point of buying the inferior version of a game just so you can take it with you.

>>713087321Don't be disingenuous. Something like the new 007 game will be day 1 on Switch 2, and it'll sell like shit too. Same for Tony Hawk 3+4, Madden, etc.
>>713087202I would have bought the Bravely Default HD remaster. But GKC means no.
I bought Cyberpunk to show support for full-physical, and I don't even have any intention to ever play the game
>>713087573>Bravely DefaultWhich is censored outside of Japan, so yes, you just bought the inferior version of the game.
>>713086043 (OP)If 3rd party devs want money then they have to make sure to stop using key cards, the ultra jews at EA aren't even using one of those for splitfiction, it isstill a code in a box .
>>713087651>And Cyberpunk is the only third party success story so far.I hope's it because of it being a true physical, guess we'll see.
>>713087397I can almost guarantee this is why third parties are selling poorly. The only game that's doing decently, not counting third parties, is Cyberpunk.
I'd have gotten SF6, BD, and Raidou had they not been key cards.
>>713086043 (OP)i definitely don't buy 3rd party games on switch. What would the point of that be?
>>713087816*not counting first parties.
>>713086513Portability duh
>>713086043 (OP)Nintendo, for the good of the community, should stop selling consoles and simply focus on selling video games. Sure, they'd lose money doing that, but for the gamer, it would be much better. Literally, making consoles only for Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon, I find that really abusive. But all of that is the consumer's fault.
>>713087072Because its 2025 and gacha games have much higher quality goon scenes than Rune Factory now, while other games are much better for farming.
>>713087397I was going to get BD but 1) censored and 2) fake physical
So I played mario kart for 8 hours and now the switch 2 is collecting dust again.
third parties need to step it up if they want my money
simple as
You're a full blown retard for buying downgraded AAA titles on the switch. The Nintendo Switch will always be the first party/indie/AA machine to me.
>>713087345>Be a third party Dev>Port your games with that terrible game card key bs attached>Be surprise the audience you're courting towards doesn't budge one bitFaggot devs should make better ports if they want my hard earned dough

>>713086043 (OP)>only tendies buyingyea...
No shit?
Why would anyone purchase 3rd party on Nintendo?
Worst versions of the games and they're on game key cards so they'll just vanish in a few years.
>>713086043 (OP)Good, game key card faggots deserve no sales. I would support cyberpunk, but i just dont care care for that game
Why would you buy them on Switch 2 when they are on PC? I only have consoles for thier exclusives. My PS5 remains a Gran Turismo and Bloodborne machine to this day.
>>713086043 (OP)GAME KEY CARDS FLOP. CELEBRATION THREAD NOW. PHYSICAL CHADS. Capcom putting out Street Fighter incomplete edition was funny too. Dumpsterfire. Hate Capcom the most out of all Japanese publishers for their nasty tactics.
We're in the Nintendo greed cycle again where they make poor decisions and fail
A few million consoles sold is nothing if people will actively check which game cart has a key or not
And we know most devs are also greedy as fuck and will opt for keys
Software sales (which drive a console) will be bad
People will sell their overpriced tablet
The only good thing that comes out of this is that Nintendo will be forced to make good games again
Maybe 3rd parties would sell more copies if they made actual physical releases and not that Key Card crap
>>713087129Quite a few people actually
>>713086043 (OP)No shit.
Casuals ain't buying a console that expensive at launch, and hardcore gamers already own other systems to play multiplatform titles like Street Fighter 6 and Cyberpunk.
Add to that the Game Key cards so that even potential collectors or people interested in truly offline gaming won't be buying most titles.
>more people buy Nintendo games (100% of revenue to Nintendo)
>less people buy key sharts
>this forces publishers to make actual physical copies if they want to compete with Nintendo's games
The Furukawa gambit.
>>713086816Like 99% of the third parties are old and already on the Switch 1. The fact that they are selling at all is insane because it means people are rebuying them. It's only going to get better when new third party games come out.
>>713087129>who the fuck buys multiplats for a portable instead of a home consolegee i dunno
>>713086043 (OP)Because you have the entire switch 1 library that's playable and gets a performance boost simply from being on the better hardware.
No cope will ever be able to shape this thing as a bad launch.
>>713086043 (OP)>make fake physical games (they were already doing this on every other platform 2 Nintendo just drew attention to it)>people aren't interested in buying themshocker
Also probably doesn't help I don't think there are any third party games that aren't late ports yet besides the deer rape game
>spend decades training consumers to not look forward to third party games in nintendo consoles
>'wtf why aren't they looking forward to our games???'
stupid faggots
>>713087709I figured, even though I bought it blind. The localization is also atrocious, as the dialogue often doesn't match what the characters are saying in the slightest. I try to listen to the dialogue first and in case I don't understand something, I check the subtitles. Too bad there is a lot of text-only stuff for the characters.
>>713087926got a steamdeck and moonlight for that.
Stab me in the back with digital DRM physical cartridges? Stay put Nintendo, that knife is going back on your back too. KEY CARDS? SHALL NOT BE BUYING.
>>713086204>but what about politics
>>713086979They should be new for nintendildos, they don't play games outside of their toyboxes. But then again they don't buy third party games since the N64 times, because they hate video games. They just worship one company and that's all.
>>713086204I'm a huge trump fan and I love my switch and switch 2.
>>713088293>Faggot devs should make better ports if they want my hard earned doughWhat is the excuse for not buying third party games for the Switch, WiiU, Wii, GameCube, N64?
>>713090794See, that's the thing - Most Switch owners have a PC.
>>713086043 (OP)>people arent buying the game they already ownMore news at 5
>>713086043 (OP)I for one am very glad that Game Key Cards are failing. It's like they entroonified game releases by making it worse than a purely physical or a purely digital release.
I see a game key card, I don’t buy. Simple as.
>>713088715and apparently still not enough, so not as many as you'd want us to believe
bruhs i thought Nintendo players couldn't vote with their wallets yet they rejected game key cards and overpriced old games in favor of new games and cartridges with full games in them???
reminds me of wii u launch all over again. its all random third party games people already own like mass effect 3 and deus ex. mario kart is the killer app and its just not worth $60-70.
They're just like digital games but with none of the convenience, I don't understand why anyone would buy a game key card.
>>713094517The Wii U took a couple of years to get Mario Kart

>>713086513Because they are actually fun "video" games first & not the fabled "movie" games that took over Sony & Microsofts brain
>>713094767the only benefit is that you can resell/trade it
>>713094810until the wii u version came out, stores were still pushing the last gen version as backwards compat.
I don't understand the grand plan of game keys, if it's to combat the eventual piracy spree why restrict it to third party games whose ports are better played elsewhere?
>>713095356they put crysis on the switch?
>>713095413>>713094767PROBLEM: The read and write speeds for the Switch 2 cartridges need to be newer technology and its costly.
SOLUTION: Sell the empty cartridges with a download link and it can be resold.
We'll see where this goes but I'm happy that Game Key Cards are flopping. 2026 needs to reduce the prices for these cartridges. Also both of you are forgetting that it isn't just reselling, when the game is all on the cart/disc, you don't have to give up astronomical high hard drive space. Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't eat 64GB of your 256GB starting Switch 2 experience with a digital download.
Give it time and you'll see the digital tards start to question themselves as they download multiple 64GB games.
>>713095515it's not about piracy, it's because the only physical cart size for Switch 2 is 64GB and it's expensive as fuck because it has improved read speeds or whatever. GKCs were the cheap way of doing a "physical" release
>>713095634They did also
>realmyst>gothic 1&2>blade of darkness & outward>ADOM 2 with proper controller support
>>713095515Switch 2 both internal storage and physical cartridges use MicroSD Express Read/Write speeds. This costs a lot to manufacture, a 256GB MicroSD Express costs 40 dollars. lol. So anyway, the lowest cost/performance production is the 64GB card variant for Samsung/whomever manufactures them. Nintendo opted to use this. Personally I would've preferred the old standard Switch 1 era MicroSD cards if we had to install to the system to make up for the speed difference. The natural costs of this technology will go down, as NVME and SSDs did too, but this is the starting era.
All of Nintendo 1st party titles use the 64GB physical cartridges. Yes, it's stupid they're wasting all that space on nothing. Not even Nintendo can haggle to use 32GB as the lowest format from Samsung and whomever else makes the cartridges. Anyone caught doing Game Key Cards deserves a boycott.
Why the fuck would somebody buy the Nintendo switch to play anything except Nintendo exclusives? It's a subpar experience on every level. That's literally the only redeeming factor about it, why is this surprising to literally anybody except deluded Nintendo executives/retarded devs?
>>713086043 (OP)Why would I play more for an inferior version which is not even physical? And by more I mean I can pirate/emulate everything on PC. Switch is for cheap arcade games like shmups and first party only.
>>713096095What actually happens
>3rd party games flop>”Huh, guess people don’t wanna buy 3rd party on the switch 2”>Devs stop porting entirely, even if the tech gets cheaper for proper physical
>>713086894Wow! The steam deck! With no physical games at all ever!
>>713086043 (OP)Wow! Cyberpunk, the only one that’s not a GKC is the only one that did well! Go figure!
>>713096930Rune factory isn't one either and the switch 1 release out performed it. you get two games for one if you get a switch 2 version at that. It's too early to say "key cards are killing third party!"
>>713096245Worst part is this is by some "analyst" not even by nintendo or other faggot. We'll be seeing this quite a bit since the sony faggots finally have something to post
