To be fair most of the games are old ports, and not even really releasing physically. I'm sure cyberpunk did well because they actually put effort in and put the game on the cartridge.

Unless you're a Mario Kart enthusiast there is no reason to buy the Switch 2 over other handhelds now, especially since Nintendo bans you for inserting the wrong cartridge or even saying things on social media.

It gets really tiring seeing third parties show up 5-6 years late with their games on the Nintendo platform and then screech when no one buys them.

PROBLEM: The read and write speeds for the Switch 2 cartridges need to be newer technology and its costly.
SOLUTION: Sell the empty cartridges with a download link and it can be resold.
We'll see where this goes but I'm happy that Game Key Cards are flopping. 2026 needs to reduce the prices for these cartridges. Also both of you are forgetting that it isn't just reselling, when the game is all on the cart/disc, you don't have to give up astronomical high hard drive space. Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't eat 64GB of your 256GB starting Switch 2 experience with a digital download.

Switch 2 both internal storage and physical cartridges use MicroSD Express Read/Write speeds. This costs a lot to manufacture, a 256GB MicroSD Express costs 40 dollars. lol. So anyway, the lowest cost/performance production is the 64GB card variant for Samsung/whomever manufactures them. Nintendo opted to use this. Personally I would've preferred the old standard Switch 1 era MicroSD cards if we had to install to the system to make up for the speed difference.
