Dunno what it says about me but the older I get the more I've developed a fetish for backless outfits

My only 2 gripes are there aren't more weapon options and that movement feels slow. I don't want combat to start when an enemy locks onto me I want to keep sprintint by at max speed. The double jump and dash feel gimped compared to most games of these genres. If they add a few more weapons(giant sword/hammer, katana, nunchaku, bo staff, or most importantly a fist weapon) and speed up movement/ travel a bit more Stellar blade 2 will be an absolute 10.

Shortest way to do it by yourself would be 2 playthroughs. One without leveling Lily's bar, which allows you to get 2 endings by the end. And then 1 where you do level up Lily, and get the good version of the one of the endings.

I'm ~40 hours and I'm only halfway done with the game (not NG+ or NG++). Depending on how much you want to do in game (doing the sidequests, getting all the dresses, cans,Stellar Tears and Nikke outfits if you got the DLC), it easily takes 40-90 hours to finish the game. I'm a completionist so it'll probably be on the longer side for this playthrough (not that I'm complaining. I actually like longer games. Gives me my money's worth and if it's good, makes me want to replay it in relatively short order).

It's a great achievement for their first game and if you ask me really didn't get the appreciation it deserved last year. The team clearly has good ideas and vision for their game. Definitely a developer to keep an eye on from here on. And as much as I don't care for Sony's first party games, it does seem them lending their quality assurance people also paid off in this case. SB shipped with pretty high level of polish and really no major bugs or issues.

The story is okay. It gets a pass but it could've been much better; motivations explained a bit more or concepts that are glossed over being expanded on.
Some people would likely be confused as to Adam's identity or why Mother Sphere reacts the way she does and the EVE protocol ends in the best ending.

I tracked down like 90% of all the cans and every other collectable myself. I had basically memorized the entire layout of the whole Wasteland and Great Desert as a result. I can still remember a fair amount of it.

Let me tell you, it took a while. My first playthrough was like 80 hours long. But that wasn't so bad. What was terrible was that in NG+ almost EVERYTHING respawns. So, there's no clear way to tell if you've collected something again or not.

So, that one collectable you're missing in that one area? Well, you'll have to recollected everything else again just to make sure you got them all. I think I'm still missing a few memory sticks cause I didn't find a guide that completely covered all the locations of them.

I wanna say this is a recent phenomenon, but I'm not sure about that. You can find narrative driven video game experiences going back to the 80s/90s. Point-and-click adventure games immediately come to my mind. But back then, they were still meant to be interactive experiences meant for children or young adults.

Maybe it was the push for video games to become a more mature medium and emphasis the medium's more artistic elements. But I'm of the view video games are never going to be "Art". The core experience of a video game is the interactive experience. The rest is part of expanding the experience, whether it is narrative or music or art, but if a video game ends up being "fun", at least for me, a lot of the rest of it doesn't matter as much.

Now, if a game tries to be a heavily narrative driven experience, then I will be critical of the story if it is weak. If I spend half the game in cutscenes, I'm gonna want a good story. I don't think the ratio for Stellar Blade was that high. Unless you took the most linear path to playing it and avoided everything optional. Then I could see it the player getting a higher ratio of cutscenes/story to gameplay.
