They gave Ryu an air recover but neutered the dismemberment system and replaced the visceral combat with floaty anime flips. Feels more like a Devil May Cry fan game than Ninja Gaiden. Team Ninja’s been chasing Sekiro’s shadow ever since Nioh blew up.

Why should I be mad about this? Still sounds and looks better than any other action game in years.

Dont know what all the fuss is about, Ryu could recover from aerial knockdowns/knockbacks with on-land moves and this sounds like a different spin on the same thing and it makes sense since Yakumo is the more mobile character. Still keeping my Deluxe Edition pre-order.

Jokes aside, probably some form of in air wakeup. Which probably is a bad sign since ng was never that floaty when getting hit that you'd need one.

There is though, he's still just fast because he's that strong. It's not his biggest weapon either, his hammer feels heavier, except he strapped a rocket booster on it (incredibly based) so it's still fast for UTs
Don't act as if Ryu's heavy weapons aren't sometimes suspiciously fast af in previous games too.

No it's just that air combat was upgraded, but that also means you're likely gonna get hit in midair more often too, so you need air recovery to deal with that. It wasn't a problem in previous games because air time was a lot shorter and usually safer.

The air combo strings are the same as before with just one or 2 more moves before dropping back down, also possibly just one higher level of altitude, it's nothing like DMC with infinite air time, from what we've seen of the game at least.
