>>713173514Well, he's right to a degree. Kratos couldn't stomach losing to the Barbarian King, so he sold himself into service. Kratos serves Ares blindly. He ignores a warning by an oracle to stop before he fucks himself up. Kratos kills his family by mistake because they were put in the house that Kratos was murdering everyone in. Kratos hates the gods and Ares most of all, but when he becomes a god, he goes on to do exactly the same shit that Ares was doing. The majority of his pain is a consequence of his own actions. Kratos might've killed his family by mistake, but he didn't give a flying fuck about the other people he was cleaving in half.
We know that Kratos does fundamentally regret all the horrors he performs, but it's a theme that he makes things worse for himself. That's why his suicide in 3 is preceded by him saying "My vengeance ends now"
