It was good for it's time. Of course it's gonna suck if the first FPSes that you played are modern warfare 2019 and battlefield 2042. But for 2001 or whenever it was launched it was great

People only remember Silent Cartographer and think the whole game was that.

1 is good

I played it for the first time around 2020, this being a common criticism surprised me. Rushing backwards through the game was cool as fuck.

Charged plasma pistol to get rid of elite shields + bullet weapon to do health damage. Plasma weapons are good against shields, projectile weapons are good against health. Learning how to quick fire the plasma pistol breaks the game BTW.
