There were no watermarks, and they did the same amount of editing as was done here.
I don’t know if anyone ever looked in to the case, but it was very minimal (likely a placeholder that was either yet to be replaced, or was taken as representative of final due to rushed development), and the person complaining about it has tried this with other companies previously, whilst themselves also ripping off similar elements from The Designers Republic. The image from undertale is a small part of a design, and while in motion, it is very hard to decipher as anything other than just visual noise. It isn't used to portray a city, like the original source; whereas in marathon, most of the stolen imagery is used as futuristic clutter, which is what the art was made to look like
