Yeah, on the surface. But the irrelevant part should carry some subtext making it relevant to the original set up.
The punchlines in OP aren't irrelevant. They're the obvious conclusion to the set up. No subversion or irony. The joke is there's some bad situation, then the obvious bad thing happens, but with video game lingo. It's an in-joke. It's like if Andrew Dice Clay got addicted to Minecraft.
