Actually I have an honest question, is 7 worth playing? I haven't played an Ace Combat game in probably decades, but I played and loved 4, zero 5 and even 6 when I was younger. I even played assault horizon, barely remember a thing about it except it had helicopter missions, but I played that one too.

But 7 is on sale on playstation right now for $10 so I figured I'd just ask, it's been on my radar for a while.

Also, I wish we got remasters of all the old games, or at least a port for the PS4/5 of 4 / zero and 5. Man I'd love to play those games again, I still have my PS2 copies and I even have the soundtracks on CD but I no longer have a PS2 or 3 to play them on sadly.

You just need to point the nose of your aircraft at the enemy to shoot in ace combat
if you overshoot you were too fast, use the air brakes and high g manouvers (press both triggers in ac6/7)
Hold triangle/Y to always look at your target

advanced controls are way better than jurnos controls, you have more freedom of your death machine with them and over time you simply get used to it the more you understand how your aircraft flies

also drones are not cheaper to maintain, it's an aircraft just like any other. a large fleet of drones actually requires more maintainers than a small fleet of manned aircraft. if anything each one might require more maintenance because the #1 piece of diagnostic hardware an aircraft can have (the pilot) doesn't exist, there is no one to tell the maintenance crew: hey, the fuel gauge was acting weird, hey, the canopy was making a strange noise, etc.

Many had the problem it was based on real would not in Strangereal so no fighting against sci-fi super weapons but there were good things about Assault Horizon
1- you can paint your plane and smoke
2- Coop mode which i dont know why AC7 didnt had that come back
3- dogfight mode was a good idea to make low end planes vs high tier planes more of a fair fight in MP just needed more work
