I know when I was 15-18 I could play these till night since they're free and I had tons of free time. MMO certainly aren't for adults with a job due to the amount of time sinks, at least back then. Zoomers would probably just play Fornite and Fortnite clones.

Disabling addons for everyone creates an equal playing field so I support it.

The genre is so alive it doesn't need 50 new versions popping up every couple years. There's a handful of titles to choose from and pretty much all of them have been thriving for 10+ years. You don't need to keep making new ones if the old ones are still making money. Go back to your action adventure copy/paste genre.

EVE online is still the best (real) MMO but it filters people and doesn't have very interesting PVE gameplay. Though it's very multibox centric but you can manage multiple accounts and basically play Homeworld at home.

WoW was designed from the start for autistic EverQuest raiders instead of for fun or immersion. and they burned out, partly because they realized how much gayer WoW raiding was and partly because you couldn't be a l337 uberguilder anymore in the modern MMO landscape where everyone gets their own instanced raids.

I know about Tigole and Furor (Kaplan and Afrasiabi). However even Pardo himself the head director of WoW's development was vocal about EQ's influence. It's not all one person's fault.

I've been having more fun this expansion than I've had in a long time. Mostly because I found a decent raiding guild without any real assholes in it. Raids have been fun, hope the Dimensius raid is good too.
