I only played Wilds and that certainly doesn’t deserve it. Probably that expedition 33 that everyone keeps creaming over, I don’t know.

Personally it's Expedition 33 for now, probably will be by the end of the year still.

Honestly nothing stands out to me as a frontrunner.

Genuine question, does NightReign fill the void of Monster Hunter since Wilds had such a meh structure? I was weary since I'm not huge on Soulslikes or Roguelites but I've been curious. It's Elden Ring for people that want megabosses fleshed out even for coop play. It can certainly scratch the itch, but you won't get a MH experience from it. All the preparation and hunting is replaced with exploration, map traversal and defeating smaller enemies.
The boss fights are more similar to mini MMO raids
