Dead Cells. Perfect mix of challenge and loot progression. The DLCs are all fantastic. My only gripe is the dev caved to casuals and put an in game cheat system that still allows you to collect achievements and progress, whoch for people like me, make it hard to resist doing when I hit a wall.

It's not that easy. If I lost a run to frustrating boss, I can load another run and hope for better gear to fight him again. But with the cheat system I'm always thinking in the back of my head that I could just start with the perfect build and win everything.

I finished Disillusion ST a few weeks ago. It's a very beautiful game if you like that kind of aesthetic. But I recommend downloading the event rebalance mod just to cut down the RNG tedium towards the end. There's another game called Muffles' Life Sentence that I've been meaning to get around to and will do so once I'm finally burnt out on Deltarune. Also, did the ena schizo finally give up?

I imagine it gets tiring to be this upset all the time

Arietta of Spirits was a bit of a surprise for me. Expected a Zelda-clone, cute and with a sentimental story. Got a rather focused action title with an indeed sad story, that was better written than I expected. Not necessarily the story itself, but how it handled loss and death. Suitable for children, still doesn't shy away from getting darker at times, never too melodramatic or forced, rather mature and restrained.
Yes, I likely pixely indie games, sue me. It's also just four hours long.

Fight Knight is a rad as fuck dungeon crawler with aggressive Punch-Out gameplay. Grime is maybe the least appealing sounding game ever, being a Soulslike Metroidvania, but it's actually really fun and has a super unique aesthetic of marble and rock. Spectacular Sparky is a short, cheesy little run and gun that actually made me laugh a few times, maybe because silly noises are my weakness

I just love how different these two are.

Honestly that's probably the most obscure one I've played. Hylics 1 and 2 are good. Toilet in Wonderland is pretty funny. You've probably heard of (or even played) these before, but give them a whirl if you haven't already. I know there's an infographic specifically for surrealist games kicking around somewhere but I forgot to save it. Another anon might have it.

A recent one is Grunn. A short little outer wilds style game where you try to figure things out. One issue I have with the game is how many items are just for an achievement and basically useless. Makes it very confusing

Expedition 33's landscapes are heavily influenced by surrealist painters, if you're been avoiding the game for whatever reason
E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy is influenced by Beksinski and even recreates one of his paintings in-game. Although it's such a mishmash of different styles and influences that you might not enjoy it
Garage: Bad Dream Adventure is a weird one for sure. The /vr/ backstory is nuts

The thing about BS2 is that it's a direct sequel to BS1, with the same UI placement, and BS1 was very much a 4 niggas in a row game. In BS2, the other three spots are left conspicuously empty, except for certain story fights where they do get filled. The row is there, it's just left empty for most of the game. Thus, it's 1 nigga in a row.

Deckbuilder. Looks low effort, but the lad is quite passionate about interesting strategies and synergies. Many of the decks feel quite peculiar and fun, with the exception of a few who haven't been properly finished yet.

Play INFRA and Obenseuer. Same devs and same world.

INFRA is an urban exploration simulator where you look for structural issues, do repair puzzles, and uncover a conspiracy and other shit. It's on Source so you're doing actual puzzles and not just sliding pipes around. Obenseuer is a slumlord simulator where you have to look after a shitty tenement, build it up, and then rent it out while doing about twenty crack lord side hussles. I have grow mushrooms and make kilju in my living room.

Came across a Princess maker kind of game today where you take care of a dragon girl and she gets stats and abilities to use in fights depending on what she's being fed. It's only a demo though and is only coming out in early access in the end of this month so I can't say whether I can suggest it yet, but I really like it so far.

Anyway at some point I posted in an ENA thread, said I liked it, and criticized one element of the game but maintained that it was good and was looking forward to more. The retard who has been on a mission to find this hater ever since their first tussle jumped to the conclusion that I was them. Immediately he and a second poster, who agreed with everything he said (very convincingly, ha ha) started writing huge posts repeating over and over all the awful things I'd said, what a schizo I am, meds, diapers, unloved, knows nothing about art, etc etc, all the same shit he's repeated dozens upon dozens of times since. Now, he may be right about the original (actual) hater, but I don't know. I'm willing to guess he was going by some of the things said about him.
But I wasn't him. And I watched this madness pouring out for hundreds of posts. And I knew I was dealing with a real fuckin' loon.

You know what this behavior reminds me of? Bear with me here cause this is gonna be odd, but I have some history studying domestic abuse cases, and a very common form of emotional manipulation is extremely eerily similar to what this person is doing, we mostly see it with women who have disorders like Borderline or bipolar, cluster B stuff, occasionally men too... Basically they get their partner to get angry at them and then try and gaslight them into thinking they have an anger problem. They'll poke them, subtly demand things from them they know go against their boundaries, make jabs at family members or their career, do it constantly until the person snaps and finally shouts back or something... And then the abuser will act out like they're being unjustly, and for no reason, yelled at. They'll usually go saying stuff like "Whaaaat? What are you so angry about? it's like, so weird you're getting upset right now, like you have a problem, I just don't understand? Why do you do this?" and force them to apologize or buy them stuff to show they're sorry, and the cycle will start again. With many of them it's simply a desire for attention, or they start doing it after their own personal wrongdoings are discovered like cheating on their partner.
It's not something most people notice at first but being in this industry I've become attuned to it and I never thought I'd see it on some randy on the 4chins, but here we are.

Sunless Sea. It's inspired by Lovecraft and all you do is sail around, fight stuff, and talk to people. Game requires a lot of strategy and slow knowledge building. While the POIs are all the same every run, they randomize their location when you die and the map resets. There's a character creation choice that lets you keep map progress, but it's a pretty big tradeoff to other advantages you could have. While sailing, you have to manage your fuel, food, and crew sanity. You can use fuel to boost your engines to outrun enemies, but it might set them on fire and damage you. If the insanity maxes out, your crew kills you. If you run out of food, you can eat your crew, but it lowers your sanity and becomes a vicious cycle quickly.

The writing isn't top notch or anything, but the game is atmospheric as hell and the world itself is interesting. For those who like games having to do with water, the sea, or Lovecraft/cosmic horror, I highly recommend it. The DLC makes the game easier as it essentially adds more POIs where you can get resources as well as story stuff, but it's entirely unnecessary. It's a game centered around strategy, exploration, decision making, and managing risk.
