It's my favorite Mario Kart by far and it's not even close. Knock Out Tour is surprisingly good but Grand Prix is still my favorite, I don't totally hate the intermission tracks but there should be a mode for Grand Prix that doesn't have them online.

This is my problem with it too. It's subtle, but they basically converted the gameplay into gambling. And it's surprisingly effective and really addictive, I think because the odds are generally in your favor. Being in a losing position but then getting a run-saving item at the last second and just barely pulling through is very satisfying and really activates my dopamine receptors. It feels similar to playing Texas Holdem, where there's some amount of skill involved to edge the chances in your favour, but the core gameplay is still based on luck...
It's hard to explain without sounding like a conspiracy theorist, but under the hood I really believe that this new Mario Kart was designed with this addictive gambling gameplay style in mind, especially with how quick and effortless it is to jump back into a new lobby after losing.

I have the game, play it, enjoy it and I agree. Fuck the tracks are boring. I'm hoping playing online will make it better. Can you play battle mode online? That'll make it worth it for me.

The last mario kart game I really enjoyed was mario kart ds. Going through through the waluigi pinball track was pure joy. The only track I even remember from mario kart world is rainbow road. I'm a little mad but hopefully they release some older tracks like in 8 deluxe.

Pretty bored. I've still more free roam to do but work most of it being untrackable and the shit to non-existent rewards I don't know when I will. Three starred the rest of single player but the lack of laps really sucks the enjoyment out of playing it more than that. There's no dynamic difficulty beyond the usual rubberband AI. I did the Little Timmy driving on 150cc and just raced like I always did in Mirror Mode and the Rival was just as relentless both times. What is different is that World asks you to be smarter with the tools available to you. In World, you drift because the turn is sharp, not because there's a turn.

Overated and doesn't worth the 80$. The game made nice but not great. It's still entertaining with several additional things such are: weather changes, new animations, items, objects to interact and interacting impacts. More characters participating in tournaments. But: the open world is boring (its empty and glitchy with popuping objects and characters), it still needs the Nintendo online option to fully enjoy the game, poor kart customization, split screen in open world in local play, 30 frames in local split screen (why? Switch 2, come on), lack of NEW music and nice driving tracks for the new game (I'm sick and tired of the same tracks from nintendo game to game), nothing completely new for the racing ganre. Where are new characters and well known personas from other Nintendo games? It's losing the atmosphere
