That's really all of the main villains in Korra. Every villain has valid points that just get underwritten by something stupid rather than addressed because the writers couldn't think of good rebuttals. Amon's equalist movement, after a season of proving him right about nonbenders being second class citizens, gets outed as a waterbender and there is never any redress about the equalist movement. I can't remember the deal with the second season aside from the bad guy being a theocrat and then suddenly ate the devil and became THE DARK AVATAR. the Nihilist guys from season 3 were cool. Thanks to Korra's fuckup you could have an Avatar game where you can choose your starting point, and a character creator would fit because you can always say that X avatars died without ever knowing they were the Avatar, that way you could pick Water if you wanted. And that's when your story starts.

Depending on which element you choose, you will have more difficulty learning the opposite element. So this could mean you have different progressions for each starting element. For the actual game, no idea. But this setup could be neat.

A game set during Avatar Kuruk's era. Following the murder of his fiancee, Kuruk launched a one man crusade against the Spirit World which had grown strong and hateful of the mortal world.
As Kuruk you would travel through the Spirit World, fighting a bunch of unique spirits as you tried to find the Spirit who killed his lover.
Combat would be Dragon's Dogma + Nioh. Light attacks would be quick punches and jabs with your element of choice shooting out of your hands in a flurry of combos. Heavy attacks would kicks that shoot out an element of your choice. Like in Nioh, you'd be able to change your fighting style (in this case, your element) by shifting your stance. Swapping stances would also swap your animations.
On top of your basic attacks and combos with bending, you'd also have a bunch of unique skills you could equip like in Dragon's Dogma. Pressing LB would give you three abilities to choose from, pressing RB instead would give you three other abilities, and pressing RB + LB would give you three special attacks to choose from that mix the different bending styles.
Aside from this, the game would have an emphasis on spacing, acrobatics, and parkour to emphasize the mobile and fluid nature of bending. The game would reward you for using your terrain to your advantage, and you'd also be able to juggle your enemies in the air DMC / Ninja Gaiden style with bending combos.
Finally. NO SOULS MEME DIFFICULTY. The game can be hard, but please don't make it a soulslike.

It's somehow wrong to ask her to learn even the most basic of lessons Aang learned. She was free to abuse her power for play purposes or self-indulgent shit like sporting events with 0 consequences. The exposition dump on who Amon is comes out of fucking nowhere and is clearly there to speed up the plot of season 1, so much so that I thought Amon's identity had to be last minute; but then you get the scene of the two brothers on the boat and it's so obviously planned in advance that I am sure Amon's identity was supposed to have a lot more build up but this got scrapped as they shrunk their episode count. It is obvious to me, with 0 research on the topic, that season 1's story was supposed to last longer, they got told to wrap up Korra in only 1 season, they did, and then got stuck with nothing when the network changed its mind for season 2. Season 2 is fucking unwatchable, holy shit. If the rest of Korra is to Avatar as the prequels are to Star Wars, season 2 is a bit of the sequel trilogy thrown in there. It's fucking bad, even compared to the rest of Korra. Season 3 is meh. It's clear they were spiraling after having to clean up the mess of Season 2 and after ending on a retarded kaiju battle they were desperate to reduce the scope of the story again. It was meh. Season 4 was all damage control. They desperately tried to make up for lost time with character development but it was too late.

In Avatar the Last Airbender Season 1, we saw Steam Powered warships, steam powered War Balloons, and Cranes (yes, full blown construction Cranes).
In Avatar the Last Airbender Season 2, we saw a fullblown drill that had the force and size to pierce a Constantinople tier wall. This season also introduced full blown Trains, which Iroh and Zuko used to travel around in the Earth Nation.
After the War, the world underwent a second industrial revolution. The progress this time was even faster because the benders used their bending to speed up the progress of technology.
Zuko for example spread lightningbending to all Fire Benders, which made electricity far easier to harness.
Toph taught metalbending, which made it far easier to build tools, cities, and vehicles.
So the technological progress isn't even that far fetched. IRL, we had trains in the 18th century. And a century later, we had planes and cars...so all Avatar did was shave off 30 years in terms of the time needed to get to 1920s tech.

You can see them skip ahead and fast forward the plot straight to the payoffs. You can see where scenes got deleted. It's clear as fucking day Amon was supposed to last longer, if not the series villain, then at least a longer lasting one. His conclusion was too good to not have been planned while the entire set up for it was a lazy as fuck exposition dump by the guy we were deliberately led to believe was the villain before any of the characters ever got the chance to wrongly suspect him.
