>>713412269 (OP)The fact that gacha has successfully obstructed the narrative that feminists want to spin about how the gaming community has moved past wanting attractive, feminine girls in games automatically makes gacha a massive net positive for the state of gaming, and I don't hate all gacha games.
However, I think that the gacha system inherently makes games less interesting, and I wish that these great girls weren't trapped in this box (I'll still take this box over the crap that feminists want to shove down our throats). In a traditional single player game or even an MMO, if you want to unlock a new ability that changes the game, this is done in the game world. Find the character. Complete the research. Do the sidequest and get the training. Defeat the enemy and get the item. Gather the materials and craft the item. Now you've gone from a spear to a gun, or you've got a mech-type unit, or you can fly, or you have a summon, or you can stun-lock enemies, or you can shoot fire, or you hit twice in each turn now. In gacha, all of your major gameplay-changing leaps are done by rolling for characters, and this is mostly true regardless of the genre that the gacha is in.
