Tyrian is a pretty boring game overall; right from the start, the inertia movement is a dead giveaway, the shield regenerates quite fast, making all the risk of the main game absolutely non-existent. Aside from the painfully simple patterns and hazards, the bullets do not synchronize correctly with the background, giving a rather ugly look when you're moving around, the weapon shop is busted, and engage mode is a poorly designed difficulty where you have to make button combinations to put on weapons and defend yourself with something.
