NuBlizz can barely shit out 5 zones and a few dungeons in a 2-year dev cycle.
There are 42 zones in EK and Kalimdor.
Unlike with Cataclysm, a modern zone revamp would be expected to have a complete graphical overhaul of the old zones.
There is quite literally no way nuBlizz can revamp the quests and graphics of 42 zones in 2 years. No way. That's not even including the old dungeons which would need revamping, the old cities which would need revamping, and brand new endgame zones on top of that.

There will never, ever be an old world revamp ever again. Ever.

Like I've already said twice, I'm talking about the gear itself, not the crests. The whole point of this argument is to refute the "hurr u have to run 500000 mythic+ dungeons to gear up" meme. Spamming them for a week or two at the very beginning is a good shortcut to get some initial gear to start raiding with but it's not the only option and either way you need to actually be raiding after that point because M+ doesn't even drop the max gear track. When you're running M+ for crests you really do not need to do many at all, especially if you're running high keys.
