There's a problem with the rape theory. Is that the loop was caused by a witch to teach him a lesson. The idea might have been scrapped but it's the only explanation provided to us for the plot of this movie.

Had he raped anyone, or done anything incriminating really, the witch would have killed him on the stop.

I doubt it. Doesn't make sense, the point was to teach him a lesson. That would defeat the purpose. A lil rape doesn't matter when the day gets reset. Plus he does bad stuff, he lies to the woman to fuck her and he steals money and kills the groundhog. Where is the line supposed to be drawn?

Better explanation: if he's irredeemably bad then he's already in hell, if he can learn his lesson and become truly good then he deserves to be free.

Rather than a full on loop, what I'd wish for would be some sort of pseudo time-freeze pause menu
Feeling like shit and enormously tired? Pause, sleep to your heart's content and resume feeling fresh
Someone's saying something so extremely stupid it deserves to be carefully dismantled and humilliated? Pause, mull it over, resume and repeat until necessary, your conversational dishonesty doesnt mean jacksquat if I can call out every single weaseling attempt
A difficult test you need time for? Pause and get all the time you need
Self defense? You better catch me with my guard down because I'm gonna abuse pause buffering as much as I possibly can, even if I have to fight for weeks in frame by frame
Can I interact with stuff nearby around? firstly, rape, second, make notes for everything, always carry laxatives on you the moment you want someone to get gone
There's probably far more bullshit you could pull, but all this is already more than enough

I'd say that if you can rest in pause that would mean your metabolism is still kicking and you should age and get hungry
But then we'd get into the "balancing" territory of having a superpower, which would make it "fair" to use, but also gay, so I'd say no, but its not like I'd get to choose in the first place.

Total war is 4x in the sense that it has "diplomacy" and you need money to to buy troops and you need to explore the map to kill the other factions. In reality all Total war titles are 1X (fighting) strategy games. TW:WH3 is the latest but its the worst in my opinion. Its solely propped up by GW paypigs.
Its cool to watch your army fight though, this is true through almost all the titles, even warhammer ones.
Anonymous No.713458691 [Report]
I kind of feel you would be stuck to just short games like rouge likes or multiplayer games since you'd never be able to play an RPG since all your progress would reset the next "day"
Then again I think multipayer might become predictable too since you'd be fighting the same players every"day" too.

I think gaming would get boring fast in a groundhog day scenario.

he stole money from an armored vehicle, drove Phil off a cliff, duped a woman into having sex with him, punched Ned in the face, let the old soup man die multiple times before he started helping him, went joyriding on the railroad tracks. Did you even watch the movie? He did awful things. Not to mention his public suicides that must have caused mental scarring on dozens of people.

The ending is unrealistic. I think someone did the math - he re-lived the same day way too many times. At least several thousands times. That is an actual definition of hell, and for him to keep his sanity at the end makes no sense. Insanity is doing the same things over and over again expecting different results. He was doing all sorts of shit, like learning languages, picking up instruments, etc.
