If you're such a moral platform, why do you still allow that kind of content that's already there? If you're going to be so arbitrary about what games get included, then be consistent and remove them all.

The banned games are solely on IGDB (read: Twitch)’s end, and I think Backloggd reads from old versions of a game's page before they are removed. That's why Black Souls 1 can be reviewed but not 2.

I dont really play online games. I only play single player games. I haven't played an online game since the PS3/360 gen. I haven't played arcade games in like 20 years or something but I included ones I played back in the day like Time Crisis and Silent Scope or whatever. Of those 894 games I've played I'd say only like 30 of them at most are online games and maybe about 20 arcade games. I've been playing games since the SNES/Megadrive era so most of those games I've played are from old gens not current gen or the PS4 gen.

I only use Steam to organize my backlog, but there's plenty of arcade games that can be completed (as in they have an ending credit roll you can earn or at least a 'positive' game over to work towards). If they can't you can at least remove them from the backlog without completing them once you've had your fill.
The real debate is usually whether you have to 1cc an arcade game for it to count or if that's separately 'mastering' it

One thing I like about having logs for my shit like in Backloggd/Letterboxd/etc is being able to categorize, format, and look back on all the shit I've played over the years in a nice pleasing layout. Also gives you more of an incentive to finish shit. Nothing about having a "backlog.txt" saved feels good or motivates you to tackle the shit in your backlog. Your list is just about as attractive as a spreadsheet.

Back when i was obsessed with my video game log, i used to use medium.com to write articles about the certain game i was reviewing. The main reason anyone without a desperate need for attention would use those sites would be either for the recommendation algorithms and/or the size of the userbase. More people using it means more votes and more accurate datapoints for the recommendation algorithm. That said, Letterboxd is not great at this and you're better off with either Trakt + Couchmoney or TMDB + MovieLens. Generally the recommendation algorithms built into the big sites for movie cataloguing use TMDB keywords which are notoriously arbitrary and not standardized. Something like Couchmoney or MovieLens bypasses that by strictly building profiles off of people based on their ratings and using that to recommend movies to users with similar taste. This only works as well as your diligence with rating shit accurate to your tastes.
