>>713456654She isnt just getting chroma starved, shes also physically dying and losing her mind. IDR if we know exactly how long she was in the painting before Renoir tried to force her out, but we can assume it was long enough for her to already be suffering dangerously for him to try. By the time Alicia jumps in, Aline is apparently doing most thing without thinking since she doesnt seem to know what Maelle's deal is despite being the one who painted her like that. And by the time you confront her, even on a second playthrough with full context for her perspective, she is blabbering nonsense half the time.
In her last stage when she starts healing you the only good explanation is that she lost track of the situation besides knowing she is injured and in a battle, so starts throwing aid at her family/the people with them. A magnanimous gesture is out of line with everything she has said, done, and will do moments after being booted out of reality, and she'll still do it if your lineup is Lune, Sciel, and Dog.
Her behavior when she jumps back in is similarly feverish and uncoordinated, though she seems to have recovered slightly.
Real Renoir doesnt really lose his bossfight, he just stops fighting, but of course he was also probably exhausted and had to deal with Aline again on top of it. Also, while it isnt really made apparent mechanically, presumably awakened Maellicia was harder to use godhax against.
Simon was an untiring monster painted by full strength Clea with the intent for him to fight a much stronger at the time Aline. All the nevrons and axons and so on were still just kinda painters playing around, Simon's strong because hes the only example of a full strength painter actually trying to make a superweapon (the axons seem intended to be arguments to Aline moreso than enemies). And hes still probably somewhat diminished since slaying Clea's axon.
