What can you even do with a new game? 2B ends her story ending a cycle of eternally finding out that she was fighting a Fiction War. She has nothing to live for. Humans whom she protected went extinct. Her allies like her boss were killed off. And the only survivor if 9S the beta faggot simp that no one except homos like. And the Earth is a ruined wasteland.

There is nothing to make a sequel out of. As much as the hacks who made Automata think it was a happy ending its a bad ending. 2B can only literally wait on the ruined Earth until the elements rust and destroy her robot body and then she herself can die off. The story of Nier Automata is shit.

Automata was only successful because it was mildly fun and featured 2butt, the game leaves no room for a good direct sequel(you could do it but it'd suck), and the nier series in general is weak. That's why they did the smart move and loan 2butt out as a guest character
