I was born in 2001 and 7-8 year old kids I knew played COD and GTA. At 9-10 I had friends who talked about the Fallout series. At 5-6 I knew plenty of kids who played Gamecube/PS2/OG Xbox. I have memories going back to when I was 2 or 3 years old with games.

I have seen some Personality Cafe-escapees here who try to insist 7-12 is the peak of childhood and that you can't remember before that, but by 10/11 you're in the earliest stages of puberty and on your way to middle school. You get made fun of by most kids for liking capeshit or kid's cartoons by that time. At least that's how it was here. I pretended to not like Spider-Man from ages 7-9.

Realistically, the peak of childhood for me from what I remember/felt would've been 6-7. So 2007-2008 mostly. Your teenage years aren't meant to be your childhood, you're just legally a minor. 6-7 would be ages where you view things with more rose-tinted glasses, not as much 12-13 or god forbid 18-20 like I see some people. Maybe it's just because I'm autistic and don't conform to social stuff like that as much.

Further, the dates move around with some frequently, further adding to their arbitrariness. And what of those born in late 1996? How are they not functionally different from those born in early 1997?

I was born in 1996 and consider 2004-2008ish to be my formative years. So I got super spoiled by the abundance of video games available to me as a kid. Any weekend rental, it was so easy to blind pick a 7/10 game you've never heard of before.

Then you get into the Obama games era where things decline rather steeply but the world still had enough soul for youth to still be enjoyable. I still enjoyed interacting with video games, the E3s, early YouTube, 1UP, Giant Bomb etc.

I am kinda pissed that I grew up with the 3DS because PC is so much better.
I bet if I grew up with PC, I would have turned out a lot more strong willed, intelligent and competent than I am now because PC games teach you valuable life lessons like never giving up, trying again if it's hard, thinking up strategies and counters, actually exploring around instead of following the beaten path, thinking outside the box and such things, while 3DS games just threw everything at you without ever challenging you, which I think has made me weaker.

Zoomers don't seem to have a problem pointing out reality and how it contradicts wrongthink, even if again it's done in a playful inoffensive way to avoid actually pissing certain groups off. Even when we're forced to pretend that men and women are equal in every way, trans rights are human rights and basic biology doesn't exist and ignore crime statistics, we all know and agree how fucking stupid it all is on an instinctual level. Even the lefties have a useful role to play in spreading awareness of the JQ. Tiktok has made the truth impossible to ignore, and the elites thought they could get away with it. They thought we would play the role of the goy cattle they think we are and take it up the ass. Instead zoomers are "quiet quitting" because they realize they will never see any of their labor and efforts bear fruit. They realize they will never own a home, raise a family, or be part of a homogeneous culture. Even normies like Gerbert Johnson are calling out the J's, and we can see a strong collective desire to "return to tradition". Initially, I thought Zoomers were misguided with their over-exaggerated dudebro Andrew Tate brainrot that make it hard to take these sentiments seriously even though on paper a return to tradition would be a gift of God. I think I was always confused by decidedly-late trajectory of when some people here think prime or peak nostalgia is which makes me question their memories. I, on my own, always thought peak childhood was like 5-8, with 3, 4, and 9 being pretty important too. That 5-8 range being when you'll remember a lot of things from that time with more of a rose-tinted perspective but you're capable of having critical thinking skills too. For me 9 is on the older side of that but definitely a part of my childhood and 4 felt equally important. Before that is more 'early childhood' which while you're not really super aware of culture or even the years all the time, you still grow up surrounded with media and are shaped by the world around you unconciously.
