i loved my GC, i still got it. Smash bros and 007 nightfire were great launch titles. But yeah they really needed more games early on, PS2 absolutely mogged them in quantity.

They also should have released the GBA attachment addon much sooner as well, it was such good value, $50 for the ability to play GBA games on the big screen when the GBA handheld itself was over $250+.

The proprietary mini disc format was a death blow no matter what. It had the exclusives and it had a 9/10 controller. But those damn discs guaranteed they'd have to buy third-party support, like with Metal Gear, Resident Evil, and Sonic. I guess they could've shilled out even more cash for other franchises?

Instead of minidiscs use normal discs, many thirdparty publishers were turned off by that, also stick to their guns and remain pg, that weird obsession of nintendo trying to go edgy just to follow a 2000's trend cost them a lot of sales and public reception, turns out they are better off being family friendly but not giving too much of a shit to what third partys publish as shown with the wii and switch.

One of the reasons is because the PS2 was literally the cheapest DVD player on the market and the gamecube couldn't play them at all. This was around the time that DVDs were first coming out and the PS2 was thought of as a multimedia platform.

Why did Konami release Twin Snakes on GameCube but not PS2? They released Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 on PS2

This is BS, but here's a fun fact. The entire animal crossing game was smaller than the gamecube's RAM storage, so it was possible to take the disk out and keep playing it seamlessly unless you tried to go to another town.

The GC's loading times and general downtime was a fraction of what i personally experienced with friends playing other titles on other consoles. How many cds did FF games need for the ps2 again? It wasn't even something i was looking for, i was more interested in graphical comparisons or the quality of the games they were playing over mine, i was generally quite surprised how bad the loading times were, this isn't some tendie cope shit.

not sure what you were trying to prove there, but the time inbetween KOing Tali on the GC, with you being able to skip the victory animation to start the next round, was clearly far faster for the GC. SC3 did have longer load times than most of the games i played on the GC though, but they were still fairly quick, and significantly quicker than my friends copy on the PS2.

You could play voice chat online gaming of return to castle wolfenstein, PSO, or even dogfighting on that airplane combat game, all while talking shit on voice chat. It captured the essence of online gaming, something that is still very much missing in nintendo's online gaming experience.
