lifelong nintendo fan, first video game experiences were on a cousins gba. had dsi, 3ds, wii, wii u, and switch. i don't wanna hear it.
very very turned off by recent business practices and anti consumer intent. game key cards, rare eshop sales, nonexistent first party sales, charging for ACCESS to classics instead of buying outright (they were on the right track with wii u eshop) ((even though you were still paying too much for old games)) , draconian ip enforcement, helping to set precedence for 80 dollar games, all topped by the switch 2 hardware being as pricey as it is.
i could afford (literally) to not see the growing issues on tail end of wii u era, and now that i'm responsible for my own money i have very little tolerance for shitty value. (you could say i'm just broke as shit, which is also true. bite me.) for the last ten years i've been snagging great games through steam summer sales, gog, random ass key sale websites, and i think subconsciously i was waiting for nintendo to catch up. very slowly lost passion and brain space for them, only natural that i would pick the services that value my attention and money.
the hate bubbled up during this launch, but the seeds were there. very sad, still love the games. they could fix this whole issue so so easily if they pull a 3ds and reduce price, throw more freebies on nso. they could get away with the 80 dollar games and even the key cards, hell, they've gotten away with evrything else already.

The sole reason why is because they are fucking over people who still buy physical, they experienced success with the Switch and are now getting greedy so they're doubling down on anti-consumer business practices. The fact that the Switch 2 also suffers from stick drift is just a testament to this greed. Also €85,00 Mario kart. It's not that i can't pay it, it's that i don't think it's worth it as i'm not getting a genuine nintendo experience, hell the reason why people liked nintendo was because they did things different, because they did same to care about the quality of the product and the satisfaction of the customers.
