Looking forward to replaying the game for the first time in 10 or so years. Just got the game added to my library through the SS Remake preorder bonus, wouldn't have gotten this if I had to pay the price its at on its own.

I played through it probably four times in coop at various points in time. I think maybe it crashed occasionally during level transition. The worst thing was trying to get it to connect to the internet instead of LAN. Prior to the steam release I had to use Hamachi. Steam release fixed it, then broke it at some point.

I have a question for you all.... why do you even need a remaster if the original games can already be played? Some of them even have a very dedicated active multiplayer fanbase to play with.

I played through it awhile back with a friend and I remember it being pretty busted on a first playthrough. Enemies were breaking, objects were loading in completely wrong areas, crashing during transitions, etc. Eventually we had to restart our playthrough because one of the doors in hydroponics broke. The game felt like it was getting more unstable as we progressed. Second playthrough went much smoother and things weren't breaking as often for some reason.

They made her female in the CD version because when they were trying to figure out what voice to give her they decided that Terri Brosius did such a great job that they'll change that aspect of the character entirely. The CD version was finished before the floppy version even hit store shelves, but the floppy version had already gone gold and it was the era of physical distribution so you can't just change everything on all the CDs you already sent out. The floppy version is basically a fucking beta version of the game in this regard. The character is an AI and it is recognized as being "female" by 90% of the characters in the CD version of SS1, all of the remake of SS1 and all of SS2. The whole "oh it was male before now it's female" is unironically some tranny cope from some British tranny that Transdalore then signal boosted with his soapboxing in his video.

I did the exotic playthrough for fun. It was not fun. And once I got the exotic weapons they sucked. The crystal shard is a better wrench. All other exotic weapons are shitty versions of normal/heavy weapons you found way earlier.

The idea is cool though. Shame they all suck.

Psi playthrough sucks ass because difficulty modes change the amount of points things cost, so everything costs a shitload on Impossible and you don't get to experiment with anything.
