Funnily enough 1 and 2 are my favorites in the series. I found Super to be an underwhelming sequel because it didn't have nearly the same feeling of isolation and exploration that the first two did, but I still enjoyed it. It's very different from 1 and 2 so you'll actually probably like it a good bunch. That being said, I've beaten 1 more times than I can count and I've only beaten 2 twice; 2 is cool but it's definitely a little jank at times, especially if you're drawing maps on paper like I did. 2's map actually overlaps itself sometimes which is hell.

Damn. So admittedly I've never played the original games. Watching them, I never felt compelled to even try them, given how stuff like ZM exists and is simply just superior. But during the clip where he says "I mean come on, it's Metroid." and with the footage with the music playing, I just started getting it.
