i've done both cf bond events and it's weird but the kaguya mc -> subaru romance felt a lot better than subaru mc -> kaguya romance even though it's more or less the same thing in terms of themes/story beats. idk maybe i'm misogynistic or w/e but it felt more natural for kaguya to be the really nice one and subaru to be the asshole than the other way around

Sakuna is an exception regardless of what you're doing though. No matter what, you should hire Sakuna and leave all the rice business to her (Maybe you can harvest it with Matsuri's weapon to ensure a level up, but Sakuna will do that too). I think Pilika's events clarified how monster "killing" works in RF.
It's literally just beating/killing the monsters as how you'd expect it to go, except Tamitaya just guides their soul back to the Forest.

I bought my Switch 2 for Yakuza 0, and ended up putting that down after I found out the fucked up the ending by waving Makoto's watch in front of the audience in a new cutscene, destroying the whammy of the game's ending. Picked up Rune Factory after Best Buy finally gave me my LE, and I can't put it down. The visuals and load times are fantastic on the Switch 2, and mouse controls really do make a difference in farming and village building. There's some slight frame stutters here and there I won't say are unnoticable, but this is definitely a must-play so far, I'd say. Actually gets me excited for RF6 again after 5 DMC2'd the series.

Guardians are normal humans fused to a rune power spot so that they can be magical IV drips to forcefully keep Venti alive (against her will mind you).
The Azuma gods are directly imparted with bits and pieces of Viatrea's own powers.

The end result regardless is empowered humans, but naturally Azuma's are much more potent.

Fubuki brings up a human couple he knew generations ago who are now long gone, and he isn't all that miserable about it. The Azuma Pantheon appear pretty good at staying separate enough from humanity as to not to end up distraught when they're gone. Whether the protagonist will be able to obtain that same wisdom is yet to be seen, of course. As to marriage, yeah that sorta sucks. Frankly a 'gods only marry gods' rule sounds like the smart choice but I suppose that was already touched on in Ula's story. Absolutely love every RF game, but GoA just isn't clicking for me. I get that it's an experimental game where they're trying new stuff to see what works for RF6 and all that, and it's not even the lack of crafting that's putting me off from it. I'd say it's the farming+social stuff.
Farming doesn't have runies anymore so harvesting crops doesn't have that oomph, there's no rush when you harvest an entire field and get tons of stat ups and stuff. It's also way more fast with everything growing in just a few days including rare flowers, so it just all kind of falls flat.
Social stuff on the other hand just feels weird. There aren't any actual conversations, with instead everything just being a single comment or quip. In previous RF games everyone usually had enough to say each day to fill several dialogue boxes, whereas in GoA it just feels sorta generic stuff on a rotation. I get the meat of the stuff is in the character quests, but I dunno.

You can get like 300~1000 All-Purpose XP just from farming/chopping trees daily, to invest in your skill tree that needs 44,730 total XP. I AFK'd in Village Builder Mode with a rubber band over my analog sticks for 2~3k daily, and like half your endgame RP is locked behind it. Overhead View for crop sowing/watering/harvesting is a must for the next game.
Some of the hang out options have dialogue, like dining at Yahciyo/Iroha, sharing a parasol in the rain, or hugging, but while it's simulated, it does add more options besides Greeting Spell > conversation > liked/loved gift of series tradition. On the other hand, gifting is still optimal (+16 or +24 for a liked/loved gift, +5 homemade bonus, 495 points for Lv. 10 = up to 3 weeks minimum) since it consumes less in-game time and gives more points to actually let you farm or dungeon crawl. Once I got to Winter Village, I'd find I'd have less than 6 in-game hours to do anything after hanging out with everyone before midnight struck and starting HP/RP draining, because I wasn't optimally gift giving. I had to forego farming and figure out how to source gifts, and it was only toward the second half of the game where my free time opened up to do more in a single day.
At least gaining bond levels is super quick as aforementioned, and unlike RF4's RNG daily town events or RF5's location-based system where you were locked into a single event for a few days, you can progress multiple character events simultaneously. Only issue is dating everyone simultaneously, since your intimacy will get reset with the Rewoven Fates feature to seek out other marriages.
Town decorations can offer some meaty stat boosts that eclipse the old item/rarity level system, I think I'm at like +3200 STR and +4800 INT before the post-game dungeon. Forging is kind of a let down since it seems to be capped at +60 ATK or +20 DEF x 8 upgrades, with pretty expensive costs and material requisites (discounts on the 10th, 20th, and 30th).

This is repeatedly suggested to be essential (minus for Hound I guess, somehow he's able to stay super strong with no village to love him. Maybe being feared works for it? Idk.). It'd be nice if they went into what being Sovereign entails more rather than just having it be a last second add-on at the end of the post-game dungeon.

I like the normalfag mortal angle they were going for her. It was actually a story related worry for her that she was fucking worthless, especially compared that to the rest of the cast that were either literal gods or highly trained superhumans.
Her lament of powerlessness is tied to her own insecurities of being a small town country girl too, but the girl has as lot of heart and was willing to pitch in whatever she can give, hence the heartfelt scene where the branch got upgraded to her handmade fan.

And come the climax of the story in the darkest moment, it was Iroha's wish echoing through MC's mind that gave them the strength to push forward.
That scene was a nice touch that ingrained Iroha's character as quite central to the story itself. In a cast full of supers, it was the wish of the one relevant completely normal girl that served as the backbone of the climax.
