If you want Asuka to interact more then you need to ask for buffs to the rest of his kit rather than nerf his spells when they have already been nerfed as much as they reasonably can. The only reason why he tries to play (and I say try because he's not really good at it) the non-interactive strat is because he sucks at everything else. It's just not rewarding to interact when you have no combos, everything costs you dearly and you're always going to lose if you try to contest.

And honestly dude? If you think Asuka feels unfair to play against I don't think you've played Strive a lot. Because instead of low health characters that have everything you get high health characters who have everything.

Except Pot was perfectly fine until S4 where they buffed him in like six different ways. Same thing with GL, they were steadily finding his sweetstop until they decided to just toss that out the fucking window by doing shit like letting him chain Behemoth into itself and buffing his gatling gun so hard it actually caused the wall to glitch out. And the same is true for Ram, she came out so fucked up from the S4 patch that her swordtoss originally beat burst. Same thing with Sin, he was strong before but now he's wallbreak in character form.

No, Strive's current problems are S4 problems. Yes, there are problems that persist from previous iterations and some of them matter more now (they actually got around to finally toning down guardcrush damage due to how fucked up Nago's chip damage had become, for example) but the state the game was at the end of S3 was almost unanimously agreed to have been the best balance the game has seen. When S4 rolled around people were joking that the initial trailers only looked like nerfs and how silly those Strivers were for being happy with that... then it turned out it was the complete opposite.

I picked up the game on the super sale they had for Galleon, it’s pretty fun. It only took me like 20? hours to get Vicky to Master. I like the actual gameplay but I really like all of the flourishes like the costumes, giant platformer lobby, customizable weapons, and the ranked queue minigames. What’s getting you? You could try focusing on simpler combos at first. Baiken’s neutral is more defensive where you want to use tatamis in the air to cover space and make the opponent struggle to approach you. Her simple combos are 5H into tatami, and 6P-236P-really short dash 6P-then do 643214K into 214P in one quick motion. The second one is a lot easier than it looks.
