IMO ff14 is in a good place, it never left a good place and what happened with DT is exactly what i knew would happen. After the fantastic story of the Hydelyn-zodiark arc, many just expected that all over again with one expac. And many have clearly forgotten that yoshi-p did say they were extending time between patches and reducing content as they were over working the staff.

I personally found DT to have a better MSQ than ARR, HW or STB and on the same level as SHB. Especially the last zone. My god, completely knocks UT out of the park lol. People mostly don't like it due to bigoted casting issues with Wuk.

Endwalker and Dawntrail babies cannot understand this; but there are people here that have been happily playing FFXIV since 2013, before it hit mainstream in Shadowbringers. Up until post-Endwalker, they were very in touch with the community and were doing a consistently great job.

Then, they suddenly yank the rug from under their feet. Their best talent and resources move to developing FF16 and working on anything and everything else except FFXIV. This is why there is so much vitriol for FFXIV on this board. You might not understand it, you might not agree with it, but that's the reality. This is by far the biggest problem. Nevermind the Mary Sue bullshit, but the absolute breakneck pacing where we resolve a literal centuries-old conflict with motherfucking tacos is insane. Much less the fact that we do this a half dozen times in a single expansion, all the while our "protégé" learns the same lesson every single time. Over. And over.
Dawntrail had too much plot. Way way too much plot. And basically zero character story.

I'm not done with it, but so far it seems like Another nothing burger. The picture of the overall theme is clear enough, two tribes coming together, but it still feels like a complete lack of conflict is present. There's no real obstacle to overcome, or personal connection to the story.

I'm not going to say it wont happen, but it would need to run at 30FPS, which isn't great for high end content.
I have to lock it to 30 FPS on my ROG Ally X to play it at 1080p, so I can't really see the game running well on the Switch.

FF7 remake isn't bad though, it's just far too expensive for newcomers to try and the old fanbase are getting on probably well into their 40s by now.

Oh. The difference is one is an intentional feature while the other is a bug. If you read the listed article, you'll see that the WoW devs also didn't apolgize for the features they intended to put in (Time Gated Content) and instead just apologized for the bugs. They explained the intent of their design, and said they'll work to improve it. This is standard practice done by both devs.
Case in point, for the forked tower issue, it was intended design so they explained why they did it and that they'll redesign it. When there was an actual bug though (Patch 7.2, Crystal Tower SAVAGE), the devs properly apologized and released a patch for it rather quickly.

They're cheap af to make, it's ~1300 uncapped tomes total for the mats for a full set. The rest is shit mats/expac mats.
Crafting is easy af to level and gear, and you have a wealth of resources to find macros to make the shit easy and cheap.

It was the same issue with the Telophoroi, the entire faction was just Zenos and Fandaniel and their tempered Garlean zombies. What happened to the writing?
