Got myself a backwards compatible one, I need something that's not on pc and that's a nicer experience than on an xbox 360 and that isn't first party, as a wii kid ps3 owners always made it sound like their console was the best most powerful one, and I spent years unaware that most games look and perform worse on it.

Sony bricked the fucking store and install times and shit it used to be good but loading stuff in game is still fine, at least in the ball park of the other play stations really

It was a pretty good system. Not as impressive as the ps2 in terms of quantity, but the quality of the games is conparable. It may even still be my favorite home console.

Man I'm not gonna lie, I had a lot of fun with my PS3 and played it for years to the point I had 3 different controllers literally melt in my hand from too much playing but holy shit was the PS3 a SHIT and GARBAGE console. If you never had one you have no idea how shit it was to use that thing. Modding it was cool though and despite having a slim model the PS2 emulator worked surprisingly well and I played a shit ton of PS2 games.

The fact that the 360 didnt have a blu ray player is why mgs4 couldnt make it obto the system and many games had to be multiple discs, some of the games that did manage to get squished onto 2 discs barely made it

Correction, the first wave of PS3s that were backwards compatible were soul. The great decline began in part when Sony realized they can save money by gutting the hardware, and simultaneously make more money by charging players to pay all over again for the software
