You could argue that downtime is good in games. The best games I played had hubs, moments where you talk to your crew, rest in your apartment ingame. How is fishing a bad mechanic? Modern gamers are so in dopamine driven feedback loops they flip their shit if the game forces them to take it slow.

Failed my general exam by one question on top of dealing with crippling boredom and depression due to cold turkey cutting alcohol and weed about 5 days ago. Man I'm not gonna lie, I had a lot of fun with my PS3 and played it for years to the point I had 3 different controllers literally melt in my hand from too much playing but holy shit was the PS3 a SHIT and GARBAGE console. If you never had one you have no idea how shit it was to use that thing. Modding it was cool though and despite having a slim model the PS2 emulator worked surprisingly well and I played a shit ton of PS2 games.
