I used to play it a lot with in local ib server, lots of good memories, but then everyone kind of moved on and so did I. I downloaded the map when the admin uploaded it and I still visit in in single player to continue building from time to time, but its a one day per month thing at best, as I got used playing it multiplayer, it just isn't the same playing it singleplayer.

I'd like to say 1.9 for the combat changes but 1.8 also fucked with the hit registry and animations somewhat. 1.7 added the auto-sprint key so you didn't have to tap W twice, which makes it easier to knock people back/get combos (and due to latency, sometimes you're literally out of reach for the other person on their screen). Not only that, but newfags are doing gay shit like "butterfly clicking" and getting arthritis nowadays so it's just not fun anymore. Peak Minecraft was around 1.2 to 1.6.

I stopped because of the Microsoft version.
I bought it because I thought RTX would be really cool, and I wanted to test my new Nvidia GPU at the time, and what I saw was just a few incomplete worlds with RTX implementation just for showcase (it wasn't the entire game in RTX as I thought), which ran like garbage, was full of artifacts in the image, it wasn't even impressive, and to make matters worse, it showed that my new Nvidia RTX GPU wasn't really capable of running anything RTX satisfactorily (despite making fucking 80 decibels in my ear all the time while the game was running).
Then I thought: "Well, at least now I have the original game", but the original bedrock version is so intrusive, so full of crap, so full of updates that, as far as I know, are automatic, that I kind of lost the desire to continue.
If I continued with the pirated JAVA version, I would still be adding things to my worlds periodically. But the new version of the game killed my desire to continue.

While I love the idea of more mobs in general, Nu-Mojang feels compelled to go out of their way to make sure you have no reason to hunt them. Dolphin meat? Nope. Turtle meat? Nope. Frog soup? Nah. That's just for food. It's sad. The new animals have no use. The sheep, pig, chicken, and cow quartet remains unmatched. Leather, milk, meat, eggs, feathers, these are all way useful down the line than scutes for a helmet, or dog armor, or fucking. Frog lights.

I beat the dragon and beat the game. Was I supposed to do something else?

A few different reasons. Most people really miss the old minecraft fog that they eventually removed, and a lot of the old textures as well. Current minecraft looks and feels a little too sterile. The devs also give off a strong vibe that they have no idea where to take the game and the game is already so bloated with random content that doesn't mesh well that they sort of have accepted it at this point that current MC is basically like a big ol' mod pack or something. Also the new mines generations, while cool, really are kind of an annoying bitch to mine in because of the awkward topography and the fact that fact that ore distribution feels drastically more inconsistent and less rewarding compared to the classic pre-caves and cliffs version in general.

Finally, there really is a problem with pretty much every game in this genre and it is that building things is ultimately kind of pointless and the endgame seeming less appealing and more boring then when you have nothing. I really see Survivalcraft 2 as the real continuation of early Minecraft, it does the nostalgia and early game feeling really well. The problem with that game is there are no dimensions with extra content so there isn't anything interesting to do endgame at all. Plus the dev always disappearing for seasons at a time.

By the way, why do only a few of C418's pieces ever play in the overworld??? He's made so much good music. But I swear to god 99% of this game is just complete silence, broken by Sweden or something, then back to complete silence for 10 minutes. Like I said earlier, something about the game feels different from earlier. Sterile

I got bored after a while. Even in the beta it gets dull after a few weeks.

Because the first thing i was greeted with was a splash screen message in the main menu along the lines of "teach your white friends what systematic privilege means".
