They are decent games but I recommend you to play the demo first. They are a bit slow-paced compared to the average Doom clone/mod (before you find all the upgrades, at least), especially with all of the reload autism in the second game. If you are into that (and doesn't mind some anime gore), they are worth it.
Beyond Citadel is better than the first game, if you only want to buy one of them.

Blasphemous 2 has a giant censer as one of the weapons you can pick from the start.
Dead Space games have Contact Beam, although you get it later in the game. You can bring it into NG+.
Warrior in Dragon's Dogma gets Arc of Deliverance skill, you might have seen some webms.
All monster hunting games have some fuck off huge sword class, but obviously doesn't end monsters in one hit.
In Hammerfight you can wreck just about anything with a few solid flail hits, and it's the most kinetically pleasing thing you'll experience until we get brain jacks.
Shotty and stake gun in Painkiller fit the bill, and are universally available. Especially cool detail is how stakes ignite from air friction after certain distance, and do double damage.
In Unreal you get shock rifle quite early, and the combo deletes just about anything. You can also load up rocket launcher with up to 8 missiles at once, and Flak Cannon is a beast later on.
All Souls games can be played with some huge 2-handed club.
Renegade Ops lets you grab different subweapons, and slow railgun absolutely wrecks, plus one of the characters can transform his car into a huge stationary gun.
The werewolf in Contra Hard Corps gets a set of weapons that is a bit unwieldy, but
absolutely melts bosses.

The game hits like crack. When an attack lands the game pauses for a frame and its hard to explain but god damn it feels good. There's an infinite skill tree to level up stats so your always getting stronger. Insane boss fights.

Story is also really good, one of the best time travel stories in gaming with a new game plus (but not really) where you play the game through again overleveled and course correct the past and shit just goes haywire.

The game lets you play any way you want to - there is no hand holding. You can just be a sword/board combo machine or a tank or even fully play using consumable item weapons like boomerangs, bows, torches, etc. Everything is viable and customizable.

It is a game that focuses on being fun and engrossing over everything else. The gameplay is fantastic. Don't let the graphics fool you - this is about as "video gamey" as games get.

The game keeps adding new elements to the gameplay even 50 hours into it, and it's all great. You start with a stick, fighting slimes with only basic attacks, and quickly unlock more and more moves that make combat feel addictive and extremely satisfying.
At the beginning you'll be moving somewhat clunky which makes it feel even better IMO, as it really gives the impression that you are getting more powerful with each new ability unlocked.
Every weapon and armor gives you a reward once you master it, which can be a new skill or gems that you can use to equip more abilities, so you are encouraged to use everything you find / craft and there's lots of it.
The story is insane and unironically the most kino thing I have ever seen. I could have never imagined in what direction the game would go when I began.
It does look weird at first, but the look grew on me. Astlibra is the one game I believe everyone should have experienced in his lifetime

Non-KW C&C3 is probably my favourite game in the franchise because I like how combines Generals' upgrades + powers and old C&C style base building. I hate the changes Kane's Wrath made to the economy, otherwise I'd probably enjoy that a lot more.

I can't say I was a fan of Painscreek Killings, it was an interesting story but it really was too much of a literal key hunt for my likings when there really wasn't much gameplay to complement it.
That said, if you or the other detective enjoyer have never played Kona I highly recommend it, it's a fun blend of survival and investigation that tells a neat story that leads into a sequel that happens not even 10 minutes after you beat the first game. I really liked both

I get it because I was the exact same way on it looking a little too quirky and the ship controls took some time to get used to, but I pushed on thanks to a friend's rec and ended up falling in love. Give it like an hour before you decide to either refund or press on, it ended up being a game that is really unique in regards to its puzzles, and the DLC is fantastic too. If you can at least tolerate a few design quirks and a sci fi setting, give it a go, it's just as unique as Dinn to me and I'd argue the ending is way more satisfying

It's an extremely good action game. People hate it (with good reason) because it was advertised as the ultimate RPG. In reality, your actions won't affect the story much--aside from determining which ending you get. However the combat, story, soundtrack and graphics are really good. This comes from a guy who shat on the game on release.

If you end up buying it get the ultimate edition, Phantom Liberty is big ass story that is a MUST if you enjoyed the base game
