It happened with Microsoft and Sony because things changed dramatically for them as they continually disappointed fans, but Nintendo's always had a lockdown on their brand for the average person who still buys Nintendo products.
It's like someone who really likes Disney or Apple stuff, you're not ripping the hold Nintendo has on some customers/fans unless something truly dramatic happens. Mario Kart getting a weird update isn't going to be that huge shift, so I really don't expect Nintendo to put their games on PC any time soon.
You're definitely still gonna be able to emulate stuff, but definitely no official PC version unless the timelines are manipulated or something.
