It's not. We just had four years of consistently good Sentai from Kiramager to King-Ohger that a more traditional Sentai like Boonboomger or Gozyuger seem a bit underwhelming by comparison. Both are still solid Sentai series.

What is it about modern toku and rape?
The Scramble Vice seems good but I'm scared with how butchered the translation of that game is going to be due to how much the translator of that game is non-stop shilling it here on /v/
There's also a Grendizer game that came out last year but I haven't played it yet to know if it's good.

Of all the recent sentais, Don Bros and Kin Ohger are my favorites. Don Bros is wacky fun shenanagins, and King Ogher is like a super robot anime with a great ending.

Important to note that with the exception of King-Ohger, the other 3 I mentioned were written by women

There used to be monthly threads on /a/ for the LN translations. The new mods for hiro banned those threads for this series only and moved them to /jp/ every time they got made while leaving other LN translations threads on /a/ alone. This was the same time the DJT got forced to /jp/ as well. The /jp/ threads went for a while but died off back in 2019. It's extra bullshit since the same translator also does the Index LN and thier threads are still safe to this day.
