SA1 shouldn't be remade. They'd just fuck it up. It's also one of those games that's just of its time. Playing it the original way it came out is really the only way to do it. Also the DX version of the game is a fucking shitty pale shadow of the original DC release, do you really trust Sega to do it justice?

If I were to take a wild guess is because the older people who were in charge of these ideas also may hold the old Japanese teachings about letting go of the past.
Japan doesn't care about game preservation. They're minimalists and they tend to get rid of things in a cycle (Such as the custom with Daruma dolls) and the buddhist beliefs that inanimate objects can contain spirits and if that is not used for a while it needs to be forgotten or it will contain a bad spirit. (I'm paraphrasing).
That's why a lot of companies in japan can't do simple remakes or updates because they never kept their source codes for most of their stuff.
I also think things like the chao garden can never come back because someone who made that may not want them to use it anymore. It's been a long theory for a while it's not that SEGA don't want to do a chao garden and make money, it's that they can't for some reason.

According to Electronic Gaming Monthly, 9/11 was only the 4th most important event to happen in 2001.

Even then, Imagine being a historical event and you get beaten out by the GameCube, console that couldn’t even sell 30 million units. It only sold 21.74 million units btw

I have no issue with this. It's honestly how I already feel about about most remakes that end up as "re-imaginings" anyway.
Also, a remake by the modern devs would just play worse in most areas. Sonic Team have yet to make a 3D game that controls as well as SA1/2. Even Frontiers and Shadow Gens don't manage to hit the same spot.

The pc version with a handful of mods is the only "remaster" I need. The funniest thing about this interview is that Sega is still remaking Heroes, so this is yet another instance of Iizuka saying shit that will be eventually contradicted later on down the line.

I am playing Sonic CD. So much for momemtum and reflexes, the tunnel things accelerate you and you don't even need to spin. I barely use spin dash too because the screen is too close, I use it less than in fucking Sonic Rush, and it introduced the Boost!
There is bumpers everywhere, and the levels are small too.
Yeah, its a fun game, but its not what classicfags make it out to be. I think Boost Era clears.
